UCL Round of 16 - First Legs - Feb 18 - 26

Sorry Zenit, even with 12 men on the pitch you are simply not good enough today.

That CB, Neto, is probably the most idiotic passer I've ever seen, he's cost his team 2 goals just by his ridiculous notion of passing the ball into Dortmund's attackers feet or into a team-mate who's clearly in no position to be receiving the ball.

Zenit are lucky that they were in a group with FC Porto (The worst FC Porto in the last 15 years) and Austria Vienna......still only 6 points and no win against Austria Vienna

I've already said it in December..........Zenit are the worst club in the knock-out stage

Losing by a goal less versus Napoli and Arsenal could've been playing Zenit(i think), that must be annoying.

Hulk could do so much better than Zenit. He would be a monster for a top team.

I thought the penalty was a joke, the way that Russian player threw himself at the Dortmund one was stupid. Hulk impressed me tonight tbh.

I must be in the minority. He looked like the best of a bad bunch, pretty average in general though imo.

Bollocks, could have watched the game and forgot it was earlier.

I feel sorry for Hulk, a bit of a victim of that ludicrous release clause he signed with Porto, I'm sure better clubs looked him up, they just weren't (rightly) willing to pay the insane amount that Zenit offered. I'm positive he'd be a success in the Premiership, and it was definitely his dream. He wasn't pleased at all when he left, I think he'd rather stay in Porto.

Do you think that your system was perfect for him and that a similar system would be required for him to excel?

When i've seen him for Zenit/Brazil there have been glimpses of what he can do but he's not been the player he was at Porto at all.

He's a productive wide forward, plenty of goals in assists in him, and good enough to be worthy of a more interesting league. I'd say any club that uses him in that role will benefit from him. He can also cover the striker position, he did it for us when Falcao was injured. Wouldn't call him exactly world class level, his decision making might be a bit too poor for that, but I think any top team could do with him, if not as a sure starter, as a very regular option.

I haven't seen him for Brazil, but he's become a regular there so I suppose he's not doing that bad.

Only problem with that was the game had finished before the Man Utd game started....

Watched the entire Dortmund match and despite all their injuries they do play some very nice fluid football. It is impressive how on the same wavelength the players are in comparison to our team.

Shock wins for Schalke and Gala..

Looking forward to the 'battle of the cnuts' in Turkey. Hopefully, the game provides some fireworks. A lot of diving, cheating, faking injuries and managers acting like D-bags on the sidelines..

Marca loves its signs, omens and historical stats. So their stats for today:
Real Madrid have won 1 game out of the 26 they've played in Germany. They've gone out (at the SF stage) to German teams for the past two years.
Ronaldo for Portugal has lost 3 times and never scored against Germany. His CL debut was in United's 2-1 defeat to Stuttgart.

Ancelotti on the other hand could be the antidote to all this :D because his record is Won 3, Drawn 4, Lost 2 in Germany.

these matches will be a formality for both Chelsea and Real. No chance in hell for an upset. These 2 times have just hit their stride after a slow start.

Fährmann; Höwedes, Matip, Felipe Santana, Kolasinac; Neustädter, Boateng; Farfán, Meyer, Draxler; Huntelaar

Vs

Casillas; Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Xabi Alonso, Modric, Di María; Bale, Cristiano y Benzema

Not sure who to watch. I want to watch Chelsea possibly lose (they have a bigger chance of losing than Real) yet there is so much talent in the Schalke - Madrid game.

Real are going to beat the sh*t out of Schalke. That is their best XI.

Mourinho had an exceptional record against German teams as well until he managed Real, if I remember correctly, so the Ancelotti factor shouldn't be that important. Still can't see Schalke getting a result today, but who knows, maybe I'm wrong. They have a lot of experience and quality back in the team now in comparison to the group stages, where they looked naive and inexperienced against Chelsea.

Love to see Drogba destroy them ,but i can see renties doing enough to beat Galatasaray.
