Tyrell Malacia | Romano: Here we go…

I don't get the Telles hatred, he is the only player we have in the current squad who is capable of crossing the ball and taking a corner that beats the first man, would rather play him in an overlap and get rid of Shaw, who lets face it may be a great player when he feels like it but his attitude sucks
None of Shaw / Telles should feel relaxed and it's a good thing.

Ten Hag's call now, who stays and who goes bye bye. Quite healthy situation to be in.

But has he publicly stated his love for Man United? Getting big Di Maria vibes...

Telles isn’t cut out physically for the PL. I don’t mind him but he’s only really good enough for the second rate leagues.

I haven’t seen a single successful corner or more than a handful of successful crosses from him here. He’s just extremely average at everything — not quick enough to get in behind on an overlap; not tireless enough to run up and down the entire length of his wing; not particularly good at link-up play; and not really good at progressing the ball. He kind of just used to float in the middle of the pitch lumping early crosses

Looks like Telles and Williams are out the door

There's plenty of interest in Williams, at least 4 clubs want him, and that deal alone would virtually pay for Malacia

Nah. Shaw is a way, way better player than Telles. Having credible competition for the left back spot might be what he needs to push him on and be more consistent. Telles will never be Utd standard.

I’ve just quickly checked a 20 second clip of him. He looks fecking brilliant. Probably best left back in Europe right now from what I’ve seen. We best not feck this up. Get him no matter how much he costs.

Ten Hag spent one day watching Shaw and Telles muck about in training was like .. right that’s it. We need someone else for LB

If we get this lad and FDJ It’s going to be a piece of piss playing with us in FM 23. A few more clever transfers and I actually fancy us to challenge late into next year. We really need to revitalise the attack though, they are miles off the required standard

Ironically the opposite.. he's Lyon's top target and apparently gave his word to them and all. Would be a huge u-turn.

I was convinced that this was agent driven nonsense. I don’t really get it, if I’m honest. Telles is pretty shite, but this looks like money that could be distributed elsewhere. If it’s on top of key areas then great, but it can’t come at the cost of sorting other areas.

He's young, but not inexperienced since he's been in Feyenoord's first team since he was 17. He does still have a ways to go to mature his game.

I imagine he's being bought as a back up for Shaw though, since Telles is, well, crap.

Did Tyrell play for Melvin Boel in the u18's or did he come through there before Melvin took over that role?

I know that Ten Hag probably feels comfortable with players in the Dutch League or players he has worked with. But it's a bit concerning that all of our transfer targets seem to be from there. Antony, the two defenders and now this guy. Anyone else feel there is a chance this might go really bad if they fail to step up?

They will be bad signings if they play shite, yes.

He's a clever fullback, watched him in the europa final, his coach liked him to come narrow almost into a cm role and pick the ball up then play one twos and go wide, or fire long range shots off.

Really tenacious, end product isn't always on point, but does put some quality balls in at times and long range shooting looked a threat.

Looked full of energy and desire, real engine on the lad, and looks an honest pro with no ego or posturing

We are going to be like a mini Dutch national team with Donny already here. Is Timber still interested to come and join the party?

It's only around £11m

If the manager wants, we should get.

No he was already in the first team in 2017. Think Boel was there a bit later? Not sure though.

The transfer pays for itself as soon as we find a buyer for Telles. Add in letting Williams go and it’s possibly a net profit

Strange how we let Lyon almost wrap it up. Maybe we've saved enough money on the De Jong deal to add this guy to our list of incomings without it affecting any others
