Here's the interview. It's behind a paywall though.

Dunno if they're the same quotes as in this article but this is what his agent's apparently said

Yaya is so upset he’s thinking of leaving City.

There are a number of things that have happened that have left Yaya feeling bitterly upset. He must concentrate on the World Cup now.

But City have treated him with disrespect and have really hurt him.

They don’t know that money can’t buy relationships, no Sheikh can buy a relationship.

This isn’t about money or a new contract, it’s about human relationships and City have shown they don’t respect him.

I repeat, this is not about money. In fact, he would take less to return to Barcelona.

So yeah, new contract time I guess.

Sadly he is better than him :( Remember when we discussed who will be better between Rooney, Ronaldo and Messi ... Those were the good days.

I don't remember arguing that, but I remember people doing it. Rooney was never as professional as the other two though.

All this talk of having x amount to spend is nonsense. We can spend what we want to spend probably up to around £200m+.

With so many players leaving the saving on the wage bill alone will go a long way to covering the amortised transfer fees and wages of the incoming players.

I like the cut of van Gaal's jib, he has already identified the deadwood that needs jettisoning.

I'd say all caf residents have been eagerly awaiting such quotes! None of this I'll assess the squad & see if the dross can turn it around!

Taxi for Young please

I can see 100M being enough for next season. Remember we do not need as deep a squad as we have in the past, due to our lack of European competition. Further to that we will likely have some departures that can help fund the remainder of players\positions.

I do think we need 4 or so players and think they can be covered with 100M plus any funds from departures.

Thing Is, I just wouldn't be surprised if woodward has taken great delight in telling his fave journo's how much money they have to spend, as stupid as that is.

Though you'd expect all the journo's to be singing off the same hymn sheet in thst case

Doesn't Yaya / his agent come up with the same quotes every year? Not only this, but with the exact deadline setting strategy? "If we haven't signed a contract by Saturday 10 am, Yaya will most definitely leave" blah, blah, ...

Thing is, with City's FFP problems they might be willing to let him go rather than give him a pay rise. They certainly can't afford it.

Hard to see them getting much of a fee for him though, given his infamous birthday was his 31st. Wages an issue but without Toure they aren't remotely the same team.

What the hell is going on

If he actually leaves, the Bluemoon Meltdown will be fantastic.

It was my Birthday two days ago, and for the first time in almost 10 years I didn't get a happy birthday thread on the Caf. Must say I considered leaving for good.

Is David Johnson still on twitter? Not seen him mentioned in a while, wonder if he knows anything United related.

Think he's still on there but doesn't tend to post much stuff these days. He was definitely mates with a fair few of the players though so shouldn't be dismissed. United will keep their cards close to their chest though this time after the shambles of last year so I doubt we will hear much leaked info coming from him but you never know.
