Kroos would be our "Ronaldo" signing of the summer. Any other player that we sign will be of lesser quality. Which is why you can eliminate all of those big names from the list.

When is the last time United took away major players from a big club?

Big clubs would never do us any favors.
Does van Persie or Mata count because to be fair Mata was only in January and van Persie was only a couple of seasons ago.

Saying that still not confident of signing loads of big names, one definitely. Two? Very slim chance, any more than that and we're playing Fifa.

Or... watch our new manager!

And a bunch of potential new signings if Van Gaal is allowed to bring some Dutch players he likes as he did at Barca, and if they`re cheap I figure Woodward will allow it.

"Manchester City accepts that employee benefit expenses cannot be increased during the next two financial periods (2015 & 2016). If Manchester City meets the annual break - even requirements outlined above, this spending limit will be removed for the 2016 financial period"

That is the harshest part.

So how much will they be allowed to spend on transfer fees and wages? Also, can they offer new big contracts to players if required?

That's harsh, 21 players, payroll "limitation", spending "limitation".

Journalist on MUTV: "Luke Shaw wants the Manchester United move and it's close to being completed." #MUFC

Manchester City, PSG, Bursaspor, Rubin Kazan, Galatasaray, Levski Sofia, Anzhi, Zenit & Trabzonspor all broke UEFA fair play rules.

-Well, no need to watch the U19 qualifiers I suppose.

-I think Mandzukic-Guardiola is just a case of him falling out with 9`s, who see themselves as playing well when they play the way they`ve been playing their whole career, but Guardiola sees their performances as hurting the team and then discord follows. Same thing would happen if Pulis at Stoke had signed someone who thrives on quick interplay.

-Evra as our LB for another year makes sense, with Vidic and Rio leaving and the fact that we have to sign at least 2 CM`s. Even if Shaw comes, he`s 18, so it would make some sense for them to split time in year 1, though it would have been nice if we`d have had Europa League football to give extra games to young players. Evra could always go in January when some top team has an LB injury and needs him, if Shaw beats him out right away

Gaurdiola really fancies a bunch of midgets dicking around in tiki-taka as his version of football doesn't he? I wonder how he's going to use Lewandowski next season.

It does not make sense since he's not been able to defend properly for the past 4 years, and he's 33. If he's strictly back up to whatever new LB we bring in, fair enough. We don't need a Smalling and Jones situation whereby we stunt their development by giving their game time to players on the decline.

I find it hard to believe Evra would be happy to be backup if the offers he's getting from clubs like Juve are true.

Sky and The Telegraph both reported not long ago that a deal with Inter is pretty close. Can't really imagine Evra staying and the apparent desire of Van Gaal to keep Evra as a leader seems bullshit.

I'm not sure to be honest. If Giggs leaves or joins the management team coupled with Vidic and Ferdinand walking out the door, it doesn't leave a lot of experienced leaders left.

The Telegraph reported yesterday that Evra is still thinking about the contract extension given to him.

Maybe not ''leaders'' but we'd still be left with plenty of experience. Rooney and Van Persie should be enough as potential leaders both on and off the pitch. We're a pretty experienced side as things stand so if Van Gaal really wants Evra to stay, maybe it'd be mainly because of him being highly respected in the dressing room.

Our interest in Shaw seems pretty serious and I doubt that Evra would like to play second fiddle at 33 years old when the big Italian clubs are keen to offer him 2-3 year contracts. Anyway, if the club want Evra to stay, they could simply activate that extra year option and Evra would not have a choice really (though highly unlikely if he wants to leave for that last big contract).
