 I love that this thread became the same thing as the old Twitter thread that people bitched about because there was too much discussion of tweets. Now no one ever posts in that thread.

Nailing Van Gaal's missus? :nervous:

Stupid question ...

Same thing happened in the newbs, twitter discussion thread was one of (if not the most) active threads, the tweets only thread was dead.

Indeed! Seen that tweeted by a few people.

Wouldn't mind betting after this meeting we here about a few other people leaving like staff, and probably a few players.

True I find it odd we have this half way house with announcements. Neville and Woods have been told but what about Butt and Scholes? Also on the playing side we have Rio definitely a goner but no word on Evra, yet it sounds like we are closer to signing Evra's replacement than Rio's.

Max Reckers ?! Please be true !

Worked for AZ and Bayern as a Chief Analyser, of course with title winning consequence.

I don't understand why we can't just have 2 assistants. There's no need for either of Giggs/Kluivert to be out of a job. Fergie operated with 2 assistants in Phelan and Rene for years.

I saw a little bit on SSN earlier saying that LVG has had the same goalkeeping coach, video analyst, physio and a few others which I can't remember now, with him at every club he has been at. Can't blame him for wanting to keep some familiar, trusted faces around him when joining a new club.

Analyse videos.

What does a Video Analyst do?
He'll watch Ashley Young's previous games and probably write a book. He's gonna calibrate the movement and behavior of the team on the pitch based on previous games, seasons etc.

He may help Van Gaal to find a cure for 'Slow Motion Zombie Passing'.

Noodle should love this.

Now i feel stupid but ive never known any video analyst in football. Did we have one under Fergie?

No news on first team coaches? Room for Butt/Scholes perhaps?

Fingers crossed. I'd imagine Scholes would have been his kind of player. Imagine him passing on that knowledge to the future players from La Masia in Manchester.

Maybe Kluivert fancies getting a job as a number 1.

Even though I've no idea how good Frans Hoek is, I'm not convinced that he'll be better than Chris Woods or Eric Steele, who I didn't know anything about either. Bring back Tony Coton, or somebody else.

He is the one who teach Uefa badges candidates.

Not a chance, Hoek has been with Van Gaal since his days at Ajax, followed him to Barca, Bayern, Netherlands and now probably us. He's regarded as one of the best, if not the best, goalkeeping coaches in football.

Surely Fergie analysed past matches, seasons with the staff but I'm just not sure to that kind of extent, to have a specifically a man in a department just for that.

So basically he brought through Van Der Sar and Victor Valdes off the top of my head? Not a bad record.
