Exactly, Ashley Young is not a disgrace. It isn't his fault he plays for us. SAF badly misjudged the impact he would have for us. Now we will have to find a buyer for him.Bit harsh...
I posted that in the Rooney thread. Made no difference. Every average Rooney performance will still be followed by the 300k a week nonsense by the usual suspects. Here we go. I contemplated posting it in the main thread, but it's a smart agreement.
The knives are out for Van Gaal already. It is a good thing that he only has a two year contract. The press will want to kill him at the first opportunity.
He's actually making quite an interesting point about who is now making the footballing decisions at this football club. It's not even a year since SAF left and it seems to me that everything he built is being torn down and Glazier man Woodward is now in charge of all things football. Most seem to think this is worth celebrating, personally the road this club is about to take terrifies me.Bob Cass going full retard on twitter.

? What does he mean by "ungrateful MUFC fans". What were they saying to him?

Some idiot wrote Cass:
"Fergie still bitter that his puppet got sacked. Tell your buddy he needs to feck off and give new man a fresh start".
It is interesting that Cass describes Van Gaal as 'no great shakes' as a manager but is fully behind the qualtities of David Moyes! Jesus these British journalists are so blind sided. Van Gaal has taken highly volatile and high pressure postions at Bayern and Barca, they are not jobs that you survive in. Look at Pep at Bayern already! I am quite sure that Van Gaal could sabilise a mid table club with no ambition like Everton for ten years. He took AZ in Holland to the title FFS in four years.
It would be amusing to see David Moyes appointed at Bayern and Barca. He wouldn't last 3 months at either!
Mate I get what you're trying to say. But the thing is, managerial appointments are always a risk. We went for a relatively safe pick last time around presuming that he would enshrine Fergie's legacy - thinking that he could learn the job and adapt, would maintain the status quo, not tamper with the squad or backroom personnel etc But he did the exact opposite and tried to "tear everything down". Given this summer he always planned a massive overhaul of the squad, Sir Alex's trusted lieutenants are long gone, Scholesy and even Giggsy wanted little to do with his coaching staff. I think the period of upheavel is already underway. So why not let an experienced, well regarded hand like Van Gaal oversee it ? We all know he has a propensity for falling out with upper management, Bob Cass is saying nothing enlightening in those tweets. But we also know that the man is an expert at laying foundations for the next manager. 2-3 years of Louis and we'll be set for the next decade. Yet Cass seems vehemently opposed to the man and is taking not so subtle digs at him. And this dismays me and probably a lot of other fans who feel that the mainstream media with not show Van Gaal he same time and patience afforded to the last manager. And Cass' tweets are rubbish of the highest order. United fans will "get what they deserve".. WTF ?
But why did we hand him a massive 5 year contract in the first place
To secure his value.
If your man Louis comes in then with him being so adverse to making signings I'm guessing we'll need a director of football (though it seems Woody is already that with all these deals he's lined up), so the structure changes. It also seems likely Giggs and the others are going to be gone or given very little input so that stuff SAF preached about following the Munich model is over, then there's the way Louis likes to play football, with him being against "risky forward passes", not really what I associate with Manchester United. Add all that to the fact we're about to spend a fortune and supposedly expect the new manager to win the title or face the sack and this club isn't really recognisable any more. The manager isn't the most important person at the club now, Woodward is. Neville isn't a pretentious idiot when he bangs on about identity, it's important, that's what sets special clubs apart, and I fear we're about to lose ours. All this was probably inevitable, I just didn't think it would happen this quickly. What's being torn down exactly?
Why in the name of feck are we paying Ashley Young that much?
I guess Cass and probably SAF as well, won't be keen on the reasoning behind the Van Gaal appointment. It's completely opposite to the Moyes appointment in almost every way.
He's basically a temporary manager if the 2 year contract is true, whereas Moyes was to keep long term stability at the club.
Van Gaal has his own footballing mentality and is unlikely to adapt this around the 'United way'. I'm sure a lot of fans on here will welcome this, but it's clearly opposite to Moyes' constant references to the United way.
Moyes was a safe pick with the media being a fairly uncharismatic dull fecker. Van Gaal will certainly spice up the press conferences...
Most importantly Van Gaal is not Scottish!

Van Gaal is going to be seen as a Glazer appointment by the fans and I think the supporters will turn on him if things don't go well. All that unreleased anger from thise season will be unleashed on Van Gaal next season if we don't compete.

I'm convinced that this season there was a degree of honouring Fergie's final commandment why it took so long for some sections of our fans to realise Moyes needs to go. van Gaal's appointment isn't anointed by Fergie in the same way so I do think there could be a backlash if we have another poor season but I think it's doubly important that we get all the things in place for him to succeed because he's proven at the top level. A blip will fast turn into a decline if we have another season like this one.Van Gaal is going to be seen as a Glazer appointment by the fans and I think the supporters will turn on him if things don't go well. Maybe the Nani contract thing was in hope it'd artificially drive his price up and it....didn't?

Doubt it
Barca players weekly wages. The figures here is from France football magazime that estimate the weekly wages and the length of contract.
The figures are same as above
I can't find the actual link from France football. This is a link that has taken its info from France football. Bare in mind, clubs don't publish how much their players earn.
http://www.tsmplug.com/football/barcelona-players-salary-list-2014/
I don't care if Naymer and Inieata earn £140k a week, Young should not be in the same bracket at them, let alone the rest of the list.
Please don't quote me, writing about this just makes me feel sick.
Why? Why do this to me?Juan Mata is on £130k per week, he is in the same bracket as him!
Last season, the following players were not worthy of earning as much as Ashely Young:
Paul Scholes (60k)
Ryan Giggs (75k)
Patrice Evra (90k)
Rio Ferdinand (100k)
Chris Smalling (50k)
Rafael da Silva (50k)
Jonny Evans (65k)
Michael Carrick (80k)
Antonio Valencia (70k)
Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha (Nani) (90k)
Tom Cleverely (40k)
David De Gea (70k)
Danny Welbeck (75k)
Phil Jones (50k)
Javier Hernandez (75k)
Shinji Kagawa (80k)
I wonder whether the executives at Harvard business school will request Alex Ferguson to discuss his financial assessment of the asset that is Ashely Young. I'm curious as to why he was paid so much considering if he earned less than that, surely he still would have signed for United?
