Even if he does, what does it change?

If he wants to go because of lack of games then the only option is to pick him upfront week in, week out.

He might do well, but he isn't better than RVP and Rooney.
He's been playing better than RvP this season.

I know he has played against england before when he was very young in a side containing wilshire. Think that might have been at wembley.

So one of Sherwood/Eriksen is acting dumb. It is funny either way :D

That England Denmark game was in Copenhagen and it was 3 years ago when Eriksen had already played at a World Cup. Predictably, Sherwood's the dumb one.

So you'd bin RVP and give Welbeck the starting job then?
I think there should be a limit to how long you can stay in the team on name rather than merit. I think there should be fair competition for positions, and if Welbeck performs better than RvP over an course of a season, like he has, RvP shouldn't be undroppable. Competition keeps the starting players sharp as well.

I agree that players should be picked on form.

In this instance RVP has been injured a lot, so I think that's a bit unfair. Also - Rooney has generally played well upfront. So I don't see how that helps him.

Welbeck has had a decent season - no doubt, but I personally don't believe he'll ever be a Rooney or RVP level player.

Spending big money on a striker is not something we need to do.

If Benzema doesn't want to extend. I'd rather go for him than Cavani.

Good lad Shinji :)
Good news if he stays.

On a different note, If Sir Alex announces a return, every player (CR7 included) would fancy joining us to be part of history of a miraculous comeback next season. :) Wishful thinking of course for SAF To come out of retirement.

Can this nob jocky be on the black list? He's clearly just sits there making bull shit up.
I agree. The German posters on here seem to think he's stealing a living by posing as a Bundesliga expert.

Pretty sure he's laughed at in Germany. He's only given air time over here because he's seen as a good pundit by the UK hipsters.

If there's one manager who could rejuvenate or revitalise Cleverley's career it's Roberto Martinez I suppose. Can't deny the incredible belief he has in Cleverley, he might excel under Everton's style of play.

Yeah, sure he has spoken well of him before. He had him on loan at Wigan in the 2010-11 season, he played relatively well then too. If he does go, I'd wish him all the best.

You'll all see what a good player he can be with good management in a good system. It's a shame tbh.
:(

Wont be a popular opinion, but I wouldn't be in favour of letting Cleverley go this summer. We've not got great numbers in that area as it is, we'll be losing Anderson and Giggs as the only other forward thinking central midfielders we've got at the club, I don't see the benefit in getting rid of him. Under a great coach like Van Gaal we could easily see him return to the intelligent pass and move player we saw when he first broke into the team, there's no harm in keeping him as back up to a star CM we sign in the summer. We need some level of continuity in the squad, we can't bin 10 players in one go, it's unheard of. We've won the league with him as first choice for the majority of that season, he's nowhere near that bad. There's a reason Martinez sees potential in him, clearly.

He didn't look great under Sir Alex and I think he ticks those boxes. You can blame Moyes for most but Cleverley looking out of his depth and this level probably isn't one of them.

I don't think there was anything wrong with Cleverley under SAF. (Without checking) my post history in his thread will probably bear testament to that.

Our entire midfield has been awful this season including my POTS last season Carrick, who has been played too deep and the midfield has mainly been tasked with playing the ball to the flanks. They do t just turn to shit overnight.

Anyway I hope the new guy keeps Cleverley.
