Re: Coentrao

Who do we prefer out of him and Martinez? I guess Coentrao would be serviceable wide left and in reality we need two left backs with Fabio gone since Buttner is a bit shit.

Both are possibilities as Martinez is a center back

It's okay, I'm an idiot.

Had somehow confused Inigo with Iraola, who as it turns out is a right back anyway. And he plays for a different club.

Not saying it won't happen but isn't he a known bullshitter? You can tell as there aren't any other decent journalists following him or anything.

Richard Keys is such a fanny. On the day Ferguson retired he was on air on that Talksport show he and Gray did weekday mornings and he went full on the "was he pushed?" speculation, trying to dig out any last piece of dirt he could.

fecking hell. What have we become? Is this not some sort of joke? Is a Scouser head of our PR or something?

My mate's just told me Twitter reckons Sherwood hit Dawson after the Liverpool match. I'm a Twitter tard though, so have no idea how to find the tweets or post them. Actually wouldn't be that surprised if it's true, Sherwood seems unstable.

Heard this as well, not through twitter though.

Someone just text me that but I doubt it's true. These ones are rarely true despite the randoms tweeting about it.

Freund and Sherwood conspired to get Hoddle fired as players; AVB as manager. I want this poisonous duo as far awY from Spurs as possible

I doubt Bayern will be that stupid to let him go on a free if he doesn't sign a new contract. It's either he leaves this summer or he signs a new one

I'd be surprised if anyone was genuinely disappointed at the news, never happening in a million years anyway.

Turning the pressure on Moyes as he doesn't have another summer to wait.

Always difficult to get a player from one of the top clubs in Europe, especially a German international in his prime. I'm sure Kroos was using us as leverage and Bayern just did the same as they know we don't have time to waste.

Maybe Koke if Bayern dig heels in?

As if we were ever going to get Kroos. Bayern can offer just as attractive wages easily. Know what else they can offer to Kroos?:

Trophies
A brilliant manager
A stable environment
Great teammates
A pretty good city
A chance to stay in his native country

Seriously, what can we offer that could turn a Bayern player's head?

Great teammates (although not as good as Bayern's)
A pretty good city.

It was always a non-story deriving from Kroos (Kroos' agent) wanting to improve his bargaining position for a new contract and bizarrely some fans think we stand a chance of also buying someone who is also a first-teamer for the greatest club side currently and under arguably the best manager in club football. We are so far from both of those feats that to me this deal is nonsensical.

Convenient timing to come out with a new deal also.

This is the thing. There has to be a limit on what they'll give him as they won't want to smash their wage structure. We'll naturally place him much higher on our wage structure as he'd be much more important for us. So we probably would offer a good bit more money.

Bayern can offer just as much. I'd say they're in a far more salubrious financial position than United.
And yet Kroos has been threatening to leave because they won't (as yet) match his contract demands.
