We start with news which is sure to put a smile on the face of all United fans.

Porto defender and City target Eliaquim Mangala has revealed that he would much prefer a move to Old Trafford or Chelsea over the possibility of signing for the Blues this summer.

It's also looking good in terms of midfield additions, with the Daily Mail linking the Reds with two top-class options in this report.

Arturo Vidal of Juventus is believed to have been offered to Louis van Gaal, while Thomas Muller is allegedly ready to quit Bayern Munich to join United.

Bastian Schweinsteiger could in fact join Muller, with Pep Guardiola adjudging him to be too slow in possession to suit his tiki-taka approach at Bayern.

And finally, it has recently been suggested that Javier Hernandez could be off to Southampton as part of the deal that would bring Luke Shaw the other way.

But the Express believe the Mexican is ready to join Inter on loan ahead of a £10m permanent switch.

Where the hell is this from? Yeah Juventus have said 'here you go take our best player'.

I wrote "he can't play well at CM", in which case, as i can see that your idiocy don't let you even read well, translates that he can play there, but he's not that good in there. Do you even read before replying?

And you know what you Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime, you really should try at least to think a little bit before writting such a pile of shite. I don't know how it is in fecking India, but to throw food at people, whether the prick is 17 or the age that you can come up with, is INCREDIBLY disrespectul, considering that you have it against and old man that turns out to be the greatest manager that your club could ever had. And he didn't dive in a reserve game or the carling cup, it was in a match that was already won prior that a fecking champions league final, and he did it consciously, which is the most cnutish thing he could have done. So don't make it a small thing because its not. You really want to sign that guy? What a great supporter, probably you didn't even remember that game because you didn't even knew United back then

You should get banned you absolute idiot, your post is horrible. Jesus christ , just add a bit more racism, unnecessary swearing and stupidity into it whilst you are at it

That starts off quite encouraging, then the second half of the last line brings the whole thing in to doubt, £10M for Hernandez, yeh right...

If you have a real problem with someone's post then report it & let the modmins decide. You risk getting sanctioned yourself if they don't agree with you though.

Or you can pick holes in his argument & make him look a fool.

Take your pick.

Since when have we sold players (apart from Ronaldo) at a decent price?

Always something that got on my nerves, that. Ruud was sold for what, £10 million? We've nearly always been in a position to sell, but still, it was never enough. A player like Beckham, when you consider his commercial worth even at the time, was terribly undervalued too. I'm not the biggest fan of Hernandez, but he's a £20 million striker in this climate, certainly. Is he worse than somebody like Soldado? I don't think so.

Holy shit that's entertained me.

:( Oh no I remember that was a horrible time. In 2002 Real and Fiorentino tried to sign Beckham because they realized he was the ultimate Galactico, the most famous footballer in the world. Kenyon was a very shrewd man and he told them to shove whatever offer he had up his private parts. But when Perez insisted, Kenyon told them he could have Beckham but United would take Real's whole squad in barter. That shut Fiorentino up for a while. And then next season, Kenyon defected and we sold David for just 20 million £. Worst piece of business ever considering they made more than 500 million in shirt sales and commercial revenue from that transfer. :(

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2276177/David-Beckham-shirt-sales-1billion.html

At the time he left we had by far the highest revenue in football. But that one transfer tilted the balance in their favour and we've only fallen further behind and now the difference is 100 million+. Real doubled their revenues from £93.2m per annum in 2001 to £186.4m at the end of the financial year in 2005. While United's revenues fell from £168.2m to £166.4m from 2003-2005. :(

We repeated the mistake again with Ronaldo who was sold at a substantial but still unfair price. We should've demanded more like 150 million because he paid off the 80 million transfer fee in just one season from merchandise related revenue. :(

Just read this, I am from india too, I hope the mods ban him. That is shameful. I would loose lot of respect for this forum if he isnt punished.

Quite frankly, Hernandez can go for free if we have signed Mangala, Vidal, Schweinsteiger and Muller. ;)

Would be incredible if we signed those four.

Mangala - overrated and overrpriced in my opinion. Wouldn't be in my top 3 picks. I don't think Van Gaal is even in for him to be honest.

He'll be in for De Vrij rather than Mangala if you ask me

Wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. I haven't actually heard any rumours about United being in for Mangala since Moyes left. Sounds like his agent is trying to force interest.

Well that is why, you can not believe anything in regards to united. We make bids, we get close to players then we get rejected. Rinse and repeat.

You wondering why @RedArmy49 isn't a reliable source for transfers?

What point are you trying to make? All I get from those is that the 'media' make up stuff.
That Th eclub always go through with the cycle of building high expectations in terms of transfers and always fails to deliver.

Well these were reported in all the papers. I just quoted, something i could find.

It's the 21st century. If any story is in any paper it'd be linked in the tweet. If it isn't, chances are it's made up.

The club has feck all to do with anything you quoted.

1 Except they don't. Most of it is media speculation. United has never come out and declared we will sign This and This player.
2 That's rather unfair. We have signed some really class players in the recent past : De Gea, Kagawa, Jones, Van Persie, Mata...

We were in for all of them! Do you have short term memory loss? Dont you remember these "almost" signings? My point was the club of our status has always managed to stuff up big signings one way or other.

That's rather rude TBF. He made a fair point. No need to go on the offensive. I doubt we were seriously in for the likes of Ozil, Sneijder, Gaitan or the X number of players that are linked with us every season.

Here's an example of Fergie refuting one of those tweets :

Thats not true - we signed mata/rvp/kagawa recently. The tweets that you posted, some of them were very close to sign for us. Hazard/moura were nearly done deals.. PSG signed moura and loaned hime back to São Paulo. Chelsea paid silly money to buy hazard.

If I did have short term memory loss, what's the point in asking me, how'd I know?

Besides we may have been 'in' for many players we didn't get but just because @GenuineAgent_Real_MUFC11 tweets "OMG newspapers saying Messi at Carrington!!11!" - doesn't mean the club have let people down if it isn't true

How was Jones class? His been here 3 seasons and has been a disappointment for most of it due to not being able to stay fit and claiming a position.

Macheda tweeted "cant wait for wesley sniejder to com in" and then followed it by saying "lols dont you want him at the club?" I think these sagas we have been involved in were mostly true, media do make links up, but when one persists and is reported constantly, there usually something there.

PS: Should not have been offensive, i was tying to to be funny, bad joke :(

Jones was a class signing at the time mate. Now with the benefit of hindsight we can change the opinion. Infact even though I'm a big fan of Jones I would concede that it hasn't worked the way we wanted just yet. But at that time he was seen as the next great English defender in the vein Ferdinand or Terry. We had to fend off intense competition from the likes of Arsenal who had even lodged a bid, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham for his signature. In a sense he was the "Luke Shaw 2014" kind of signing in 2011.

He had the potential to be class but he wasn't at the time, just like Shaw isn't now but his potential is endless.

It was a good signing, but I wouldn't say Jones was a class player, which is what I believe he/she was referring to when he/she said class signing.
