A) Is it surprising that Barcelona would be better placed to sign a player from La Liga than us? This isn't new.
B) Not sure how Woodward can be blamed when he isn't actually the one picking our targets.
C) Most of these deals that supposedly prove Woodward isn't quick enough haven't actually been completed yet, have they? Despite having been planned months ago? Yet we're supposed to have our targets (many of which LVG picked only a few weeks ago) all wrapped up?

According to di Marzio, Rakitic was one of our targets. Considering how his news is usually spot on, I'd say Rakitic was one of LVG's targets that we chose to keep secret.

@sullydnl Perhaps not blame but if Ed's our chief negotiator, the expectation is he does his best to secure the manager's targets. Not really mad at him for this one. You win some, you lose some and my hunch is Rakitic wanted to stay in Spain.

Another thing to consider is Sevilla recently won the Europa league so joining Barca would be a step up for Rakitic since they are going to be in CL competition next season. It'll be tough to get any high-end players this window I feel.

Interesting (if true of course). Haven't seen a great deal of him, that I have seen he wasn't impressive (both times in the Europa League).

Any regular Porto watches on here?

If Chelsea got the french guy, City get Benatia we surely have to be the logical choice for Mangala right I suppose.

If they have got rid of Fabregas, and signed Rakitic as his replacement, instead of Koke. It must mean we're signing Koke. :)

Just saw a tweet from Daniel Taylor saying that Moyes has turned down offers as he 'only wants a Champions League club'. fecking cheek!

"We will try to make it difficult for St Mirren."

Moyes is off abroad if he wants a CL job. The big guns in the PL are about as stable as they've ever been, as a whole. Wenger's, Jose, and Rodgers are going nowhere fast and unless Pellegrini makes a balls of the CL this season you can't see him going.

But none of those would hire him anyway, so he's either going to pitch up at the likes of Newcastle, So'ton, WBA or West Ham and try to make them a CL club, which he was never able to do at Everton, or he'll take a job outside of England.

What an absolute nosh bag. Earn your fecking way into the Champions League.

Really don't get the hate for Moyes. He gave it his best, it didn't work out. I don't see why people are so personally against him now that he isn't associated with the club. Best of luck to him I say, no idea why any United fans would try and second guess his next move or his ambitions.

ffs

Some girl started it as a joke and it's spread after some Madrid account with 100k followers picked up on it.

Nowt to it at all.
Some guy told me that a telegraph journo is reporting it so I though ok, just went on her profile just now and first tweet was:

''Breaking news coming in that Steven Gerrard is in fact a massive bellend''
