Wasn't it reported that we had pulled out of the race as well and now we have apparently made a bid. Wouldn't trust any of these articles apart from the BBC one which says he is for sale.

I feel like Arsenal aren't that keen on getting him, but if somebody else goes for him, then they'll bid just so he doesn't go to another premier league team. They really don't need a player like him though.

I have a hard time believing that so soon after it being leaked what his asking price was that any club has gone in and attempted to pay it on the nose. How often does any negotiation kick-off by the bidding club offering precisely what's asked by the selling club?

True. The transfer that killed any credibility is David Villa last summer though. IIRC, they had David Villa to Spurs or Arsenal on their front page. The same day, he signed for Atlético.

If he decides to come back to England and he doesn't choose Arsenal, then I will be fecking livid if we don't sign him. If Arsenal say no, then there is no excuse to not sign him. Just give him a £200,000-250,000 a week to sign him if need be. We can afford it.

If they had Walcott and Ramsey fit the whole season they would have been closer. If they sign a top striker they'll be there all season. Why would Fabregas choose us or Liverpool over Arsenal? He still loves Arsenal and I'm pretty sure he'd like to work under Wenger again.

What are the signs of this other than a few standard "i'd love to come back" complimentary quotes when speaking to English journalists? It looks like Barcelona have made the choice to sell him not that he's sabre rattling to specifically move back to north London.
I'm not saying he won't but being asking to move elsewhere and then in subsequent interviews with the native press making empty promises about wanting to go back, all seem fairly standard fare to me.
The only actual defender they've been linked with this Summer is Moreno, I'd be worried if I were a Liverpool fan to be honest because with all the attackers they're seemingly after it looks like they're just going to go for another season of "let's outscore everyone and not give a shit about the defence".
