"Why are they so quick to snap up Lambert while we take so long to buy Shaw?"

Knew that would be the reaction...We are rumoured to be in for Shaw and will likely sign him, they are being linked with Lambert and again will likely sign him. Not to mention that Lambert is a huge Liverpool fan, is 30-odd and his stock will never be higher that it currently is. Shaw's value will only rise, especially if he impresses at the World Cup.

Haha it is great when people reference all these signings others are making like Lambert and Diego Costa when they actually haven't signed them either.

Only Jackson had reported that.
Wasn't it widely known/assumed that they'd rejected our first bid ages ago? If you read the context that Ornstein tweeted that, he wasn't breaking any news but just saying that So'ton aren't bending over to sell any of their players.

Lambert wouldn't be a bad signing, not sure why everybody is laughing at that. 15 million might be pushing it but if they can get him for around 10 or anything under that it could be good business. Gives them another option in there alongside Suarez (don't believe for one moment he'll leave in this transfer market, a season there in the CL first) and Sturridge. He's a good player and would provide a different option if needed. He's actually decent all around too, can hold up the ball and use it well.

Everybody is laughing because he is 32 and is going for so much. Even £8m is quite a lot for a 32 year old. Alongside if they get him it is to replace Suarez not to play him alongside Suarez.

There are reports of anything from £4m + addons to £9m. I've not seen £15m anywhere and that's surely garbage but for somewhere around £5m or £6m I think he's a decent signing to add to their squad. He's not exactly going to decline rapidly when he loses a yard of pace, he's not that kind of player and seems in very good condition.

You can 100% guarantee that if Suarez is leaving (very unlikely) that they will bring in more than just Lambert.

Yeah, especially if you read the tweet before that. He first tweeted that Southampton has rejected the lambert bid, so when you read that tweet afterwards then it puts it into context rather than an out of the blue breaking news tweet.

Although then again we might have made another bid immediately after the first one was rejected and that's why all the journos are so adamant that the deal if done.

Even with Suarez they won't make the top 4 next season. United is better than Liverpool when you take out David Moyes from the equation.

Seems to have went quiet on our transfer front. Woody not leaking anything just now.

Its probably gone quiet because most players are getting ready for the WC, and to be honest, I can't see us completing any deals until after.

And the papers are running out of stories to manipulate and exaggerate. Fabregas, Kroos, Robben and Muller to name a few that have been written off already. I suspect LvG's cards are a lot closer to his chest than Moyes.

I think we'd come under criticism if we went for any members of the Dutch squad during or before the WC and I suspect that there might be one or two who LvG will be interested in.

Yeah I think one of the first things LvG did was request we stop being stupidly open in the transfer market. I much prefer it when we're a lot quieter and just do things privately. We'll have to wait and see if that's the case though.

feck this wanker, I don't know who he is but judging by his tweets he comes across as a twat. There's another tweet where he is saying that Fergie is a complicit with the glazers for something or other.

From what I've seen he's spoke the truth. Fergie was on his show as well. He's basically said Woodward has to prove himself and the glazers are leeches, both of which are completely correct.

Posting tweets of personal opinions seems a bit pointless to be fair as the only reaction to them is ''no shit''.

So you think Fergie is also?

I said in the mains, the so called 'informed' coming out every other week with new 'the Glazers will sell' or 'unnamed Qatari billionaire looking to buy' stories are as bad as the Daily Mail 'X gives you cancer' scare stories.

Whenever the Glazer's are in the news or club finances are under scrutiny for whatever reason, some feckwit writes a piece about how they're either looking to sell or someone is looking to buy. It's been the same since at least as early as 2007. It's the boy who cried wolf of stories. They used to be almost daily at the Green and Gold height.

My own personal view is that we haven't even touched upon potential revenue streams to be tapped and there's no way they'd bail out when on the verge of those. It's just regurgitated wishful thinking and essentially the same baseless story appearing as it has on a regular basis for the last 8 years.

Immobile is a great finisher. Will probably be a great success at Dortmund as they create lots of chances.

How did Aubemayang do in his first season? Is Immobile going to go straight in as first choice?
PEA played predominantly on the wings - mainly the right. He's played well, but I don't think he was ever going to be contention for Immobile's striker spot. His pace and directness is far greater out wide.

I call bullshite on this tweet. With the amount of money United makes through on field success, increasing tv rights and sponsorship, there are bound to be rich folks from the Middle East and abroad that inquire about United. With the sale of the LA Clippers today for $2 billion, I would imagine United would go for double that easily in a bidding war.

What part of the tweet do you disagree with?

They're professional business people. Owning businesses (specifically sports businesses) is what they do. If they received billions for one, they'd likely use it to buy another. People assume laymen mentality where we think they're just waiting for the right offer so they can go lay on a beach somewhere and drink cocktails and take cruise holidays for the rest of their lives. There is no spur for them to sell. Their lifestyle is probably already as high as it can go and they like doing what they do.

It wouldn't shock me if the Glazers intend to inherit the club to the next generation.
