Nani will stay and do well if he's fit. Young may surprise if he's given the role of left forward as he's got a goal in him. Hernandez is too one-dimensional. Fellaini will improve in the box to box role and possibly ahead of Cleverley for his power. Anderson can't play in any of LVGs midfield roles. Not sure about Zaha yet, needs to work on his touch and brain.

Marshall has come off the back of two very good seasons now.

Ridiculous to claim that he's "not very good".
One in the Championship and one in a relegated Premier League side. He's stood out at that level, but he's looked nowhere near a 15 million pound goalkeeper.

Marshall smells like the Guzan to Arsenal links all over, just with Szczesny coming off the back of a stronger season. I'd much prefer to keep Sir Chez. £15m is far too much for a squad keeper, anyway.

Szczesny is a better keeper than Marshall. I reckon if there is any grain of truth in this, Arsenal might be interested in Marshall as competition but Cardiff want £15m and the interest will have instantly cooled.

Oh that's just complete rubbish. Szczesny made about one mistake all season, whereas I need a giant abacus to count Marshall's.

Marshall has produced far more outstanding saves than Szczesny has, if you want to go down that road.

(It's to be expected that a goalkeeper playing for a struggling side has, statistically, a greater chance of making an error than somebody playing in front of a defence challenging for a title. Similarly, they'll have greater opportunities to showcase their shot-stopping abilities.)

All things considered, I believe Marshall to be the more dependable. Arsenal will win nothing with Szczesny as no.1.

Fabianski won them the FA Cup, after all.

He's looked better than Mignolet, who cost Liverpool almost £10 million.

I would also say that he's more dependable than Szczeney, too.

Both of these are exaggerations IMO. Mignolet possibly, though he had a fantastic season last year. Probably not Szczesney, though he's made a handful of mistakes again and the jury is still out whether he's good enough to be a top keeper.

It really bugs me how he hasn't been linked away from us once.

There seems to be a feeling among journalists that he is a "solid performer" and safe from the axe.

Conversely, he's not good enough to be linked with a move to any other club because quite frankly nobody wants him.

Doubt if Zaha will ever be as good as Nani.
Nani hasn't exactly produced much the past two seasons has he? Zaha might not develop into a player which surpasses the level Nani was at his peak, but he has had one season at a club in turmoil, does possess talent - despite being very raw - and has youth on his side. Opposed to Nani whos injury problems have derailed his United career and has been far too inconsistent for the part of his United tenure. Like Anderson, we have held on to Nani for too long and it's in the best interests of both parties if we simply sever ties.

Why are people happy to see Hernandez leave? :wenger:
I don't think it's happiness, it's just acceptance. We should let him leave for his own progression, as well as our other strikers - namely Welbeck and Wilson.

Exactly this. I like the guy and he is a good striker, but if his presence here is to the detriment of Wilson or Welbeck's development, I'd rather see him leave. Plus, from the players perspective, he deserves regular football at his age and with his quality and that is something that simply cannot be assured here.

Yep. I love Chicharito, as he is the kind of transfer, player I always loved here. But with Welbeck, RvP and Rooney I just don't see much play time for him next season. Not to mention Wilson, who could be a great super sub next year. I just think it's best for both parties to move on. I think he'd be great in La Liga.

He's better than Welbeck and Wilson has barely featured, so idk. But okay I guess.

He's a better finisher, Welbeck offers more in other aspects and Wilson has a higher ceiling, but this isn't really a conversation for this thread, so we'll leave it at that.
