I don't believe that as it is insanely retarded.

A) How do they know Thiago isn't Manchester United material? B) What about all the other players we've signed who weren't Manchester United material (by those standards)? C) if Moyes was weak enough to instantly cave in to Giggs' opinion then he is still to blame anyway.

Here's the clip where they talk about it. All the coaches were sitting down and talking about targets and Giggs just said "he's not material." Moyes asked what he meant and Giggs said the same thing again, so Phill had to step in and explain what Giggs meant. The deal was all done and only the medical was left, but we pulled out of the deal after that. Seems like BS to me.

I like the fact that at the start of that clip Steve Claridge wasn't paying attention

And do we all think he is stupid enough to need phil neville to explain what he means?

What if he neville hadnt spoken up, would he have sat there repeating not material, not material?

Like KM said, Ian McGarry is a bit of clown, best ignored really.

Absolute load of bollocks about Giggs/Thiago IMO. He wanted to follow Pep, simple as that. As soon as Bayern showed interest, he was always gong there.

For french reporters it was a done deal for United, but for some reasons we decided that he wasn't good enoug.

Dont see what you guys probem with that Rafael guy is, he is just a football lover who mentions United every now and again. If anything he is a bullshit aggregator rather than originator.

I like the idea of Giggs using Phil Neville as his mouthpiece to talk to Moyes

It was maybe Giggs trying to sink Moyes's boat, he didn't want him to be successful here, so he convinced him that Strootman, Thiago, Bale and Garay weren't "United Quality".

Yeah, I've never really bought this suggestion that Moyes didn't take up the option. Might not have worked out, but he's not an idiot. He just went to Bayern so someone's thought up a new stick to beat him with and everyone loves a bandwagon.

Not the first time he would have stabbed a man in the back.

But I think this story is nonsense. The club were tracking Thiago for a few years prior so clearly it was more to do with Moyes dithering.

No matter who was responsible, how depressing is it that we had the Thiago deal all tied up and some idiot decided to pull the plug? Unbearable.

That would be more like trying to sink United's boat.

Do most of reports about Kroos come from England? There doesn't seem to be much noise in Germany.

Not worried I can't see Bayern letting his contract run down. If he's leaving it's this year.
This guy is notoriously anti-United, every single German player linked with United is usually presented with a "NOT A CHANCE" quote from him.

He's not anti-United at all. He actually likes United a lot, though he obviously favours a few German teams.

This is complete BS IMO. Fergie told Moyes not to fire the coaching staff, Moyes did what he wanted, you mean to tell me we had a deal wrapped up to buy a player he already wanted and he didn't sign him because of what Giggs said? Not to mention that the rumours going around before Moyes was axed what that he didn't listen to Giggs or value Gigg's opinion. Smells like complete BS to me, totally out of character for Moyes to listen to someone else and leave the decision up to someone else.

What? One less stick for me to beat Moyes with?

Giggs stopped Thiago-transfer because he was not 'Man United material'. "It is about attitude and wanting to play for #MUFC" [BBC Radio 5]

If true don't see what the problem is. Giggs isn't saying he isn't Utd quality in his ability, just his attitude.

You want players that will do anything to play in the red shirt, not someone that is whoring themselves around Europe, signing shirts and using social media as some form of Transfer Da Vinci Code.

What do we think of this?

I think it's pretty nailed on that he will leave Barca. But for me that's it, all the other stuff is the hangover from last summer, even if he leaves whose to say he wants us or we want him. It seems LvG gave the club a list of players if Fab wasn't on that list would he change his plans? I don't know

That's a really silly attitude that will only get us mediocre English players.

No idea if this is rubbish. There will be a fascinating book on the Moyes era in the future. Truly fascinating.
