De Jong would be a billion star buy... exactly what we need...

But I think it might be William Carvalho...
I don't agree. I think he is a decent player but he's at the wrong age and he is declining. I'd much rather Blind, Schneiderlin, Carvalho, Gustavo, McCarthy... There's a few out there.

Its including his wages.

I don't know why they do that, it is not like they do it for every other deal out there, like Herrera coming to United for £29m or Fabregas going to Chelsea for £30m, do they think they aren't getting paid a salary or what ? Normal cumstom is not to include wages in reported transfer fees, as they aren't actually transfer fees, they are salary costs. Only reason they do it I bet is because £50m just doesn't sound as sweet at first sight as £100m and they can attract more attention with a £100m headline...

The inevitability that some people treat this with just makes me laugh.

Obviously easily pleased then.

Not really a hard call to make VG loves him, if Roma will sell then he will be coming IMHO, not really sticking my neck out too much there.

And another briefed story to calm the fanbase. That some still believe that shit.
How will it calm the fan base if di Maria doesn't end up signing? What good will it do to lie to us, especially now after a first game loss?

Trying for him and then finding an excuse for not paying up again like they did with Herrera last year.

You think that would calm the fan base? That makes absolutely zero sense. Since when do fans enjoy missing out on big name players they were linked to?

How will it calm the fanbase? We don't care about transfer stories, we want to see top players playing for us not on newspaper articles.

It's far easier to sell that they did everything they could to secure a top player but find a questionable excuse why it didn't happen. I mean how many guys believed that bullshit story about the lawyers that weren't on behalf of United there.

Look all I'm saying is that if United were prepared to pay up for Di Maria, they would've gotten him already, or atleast be far more advanced. This smells like a half arsed try to get him.

That wouldn't calm the fan base.

That would actually have the fan base panicking over the fact that we fail at signing players

Rojo or Blind don't exactly scream out commanding centre back. They would be good signings but we need a world class centre back IMO

For a short moment, yes. Do you think you see this outrage, if United didn't lose yesterday? All would still be good and LvG could turn water into wine. Look at how excited people got because a few links the media for Vidal for weeks.

I simply don't see it happening. Like at all. Doesn't make any sense to me why the Glazers should be ready to pay up now when LvG wanted him weeks ago and PSG isn't in the picture ATM.

I don't think that you buy World Class defenders, except Thiago Silva i can't remember one WC defender who has been sold.
I think that you develop the good defenders into WC.
