If we don't sign anyone before the season starts we'll more likely to into the season with that we have.
Van Gaal doesn't seem the type to scramble around on dead line day panicking because we missed out on our first choice targets.

I expect that if we sign no one in the next few days we will go in for Strootman in January (providing he returns from his knee without any hassle).
United have been fairly consistent in what they've said to people who should know e.g. Jamie Jackson that we aren't in for Cuadrado. It's possible lines have been crossed but this feels like a use United to get Barca to bid story.
Roma won't sell in January, not sure why everyone thinks it's possible, they'll be aiming for the title and Strootman is a first team player.
Been thinking this myself: why does everyone feel it will be easy to prize Strootman away, mid season, when he's on a long term deal? He's only a year into his contract and Roma don't need to sell.

Exactly. I myself can't see Strootman abandoning Roma Roma midseason either, I'm pretty sure he'd rather stay and help them win the league.

Why do people keep saying this about Fabregas, when it's most likely he was super available until they changed manager to one who gave him assurances he would play more?
I bet one of the main reasons Glazers and Woodward chose LVG was his reluctance to spend in the transfer market most of the time. Fecking leeching bastrds!

Indeed, some even wanted Fellaini over him. That's the way it is with fans, some just want us to buy players, regardless of who they are, or what they could bring to the team.
That would be an average window for the biggest club in the world surely considering how the rivals have strengthened, plus how we fecked up last season and how we are actually weak in 2 very very important areas of the pitch.
I can't believe people mentioning the Mata signing as if it was money spent from this season. Last summer window we just signed one player for 27 mil pounds and that is why we were allowed to sign Mata in Jan.

Who is saying Mata was this season? I quite clearly say last window, we are not far away we need to strengthen a couple positions cm & cb if it happens this window great if not then rather than buy for the sake of it. I'm happy to put my faith in LVG.
Yes. Those trophies and pedigree are just an after thought, the main reason of hiring van Gaal was because he refuses to spend ridiculous amounts on players.

Don't roll those eyes,yet. I said one of the reasons. Its a fact. From a business and their point of view it would have been a very important reason for them. Not that it puts a blame on LVG who I am delighted to have.
Yeah nothing to do with his winning mentality, or his history of developing fantastic squads, or his trophy haul, or his ability to run a Club the size of a United, all that had nothing to do with it.
Of course, that's not the point I was making though, sometimes fans want us to sign a player even if it has no positive influence on the team, signing someone is better than no one right?. Likewise, there was a posters on here who didn't want us to sign RVP. I trust LVG, he knows what he's doing, that's evident by the way the team has bought into his philosophy.

I Always wanted Strootman for the price he went for was a bargain. A lot on here we're put off by his performances in the under 21's
I think he'll recover from his injury fine but if we want we have offer huge money next summer.

I said this a month ago and got shot down, but if we buy players now, our title chances could be over by the time players are in and bedded into the team.
The window still goes for another 3 weeks but I think we have to admit that we're not a top team anymore but rather in the 2nd tier
