But with the state of our midfield, and the fact that we've made one signing there in 6 years (and that was bloody Fellaini), if we managed to bring in two midfielders this summer then I'd be happy. We obviously need other areas strengthening but if we sort out the central midfield this summer then thats a good start. Although admittedly the defence would still be a major concern.

Sanchez is a right winger, isn't he? I don't see us prioritizing the right wing this window, so unless he can play well on the left too I don't see us getting him. Personally I would love to see him at United and would take him over Valencia any day, though.
I think we offered them 40 to avoid paying the tax that comes with the contract clause but they refused. They could just be sour from last season and are reluctant sellers because of the player's wishes.
