Agreed. Not sure what Red hand Devil has against him tbh.

He was as impressive as Blackett on tour as well. Blackett made bigger more fundamental and bigger errors vs Destro and Roma infact. And Jones bigger than the 2 vs Liverpool even.

You have probably seen more of Keane then me, so for that reason I reserve my judgement a little bit.

Regarding Blackett is a no brainer. I don't need more then a couple of games against quality opposition to realize that he has what it takes. Maybe LvG helped him and that gave him the confidence to take the step up, i don't know, but he looked so natural and composed. His passing was excellent and he was calm and relaxed in tight situations. All those things together with his superb physique convinced me. The next step is to do all this things on a regular basis.

He's not on Rio's level but close to Smalling ability a couple of years ago, if that say something...

I agree. Both are potentially first teamers IMO but we need to see more of them at Premier League level.

You've lost the plot pal, you're embarrassing yourself a bit here.

When did I hype up Keane as some sort of world beater? I said he has potential, as I've seen from his loan spells, u21 England games and the way he's adapted to centre half from being a full back in the academy. Blackett on the other hand has done nothing of note in two loan spells and the only thing you're basing your opinion on is about four halves worth of pre season football. I think both have potential, but equally both have a lot to learn, and will need more Prem football before they can be properly judged.

In your last post you spoke of Rio at 19 being much better. He was indeed, but he was also the best centre half this country has seen in decades. Had you even heard of Vidic at 20? Thiago Silva? Benatia? Carvalho? The answer is no, because most centre backs don't set the world alight as teenagers, take longer to mature and reach the heights in their mid to late 20s.

What's more deluded, saying both Keane and Blackett have potential but a lot to learn (me) or slating Keane and hyping Blackett based on a few halves of pre season football (you)? And don't make assumptions on how much I've watched players when you haven't a clue.

Did M.Keane or his brother Will, step up on the tour?

Did Blackett step up on the tour?

Did Young step up on the tour?

Did Fletch step up on the tour?

3 out the 5 did!

Make your mark when the opportunity arises & that opportunity was there on the tour. M.Keane did not step to the plate!

So you've written him off because of the tour but want to ignore the opinions of people who have been watching him develop for the last few seasons? Then you have the cheek to call other posters deluded?
 
If Piszczek is available we need to be going for him - he'd be the perfect wingback IMO, and wouldn't cost as much as Cuadrado, plus h's more experienced.

Nothing in it at all. What I don't get is why we'd ever be in for a player who's coming back from a serious knee injury if we're apparently asking for all kinds of proof that Vidal's knee isn't knackered before we negotiate a price for him. Doesn't make sense at all but people are blinded by their own muppetry.

Debating a point rationally is one thing. However the constant use of emoticons and exclamation marks whilst simply stating an opinion rubs people up the wrong way.

Surely you can have a debate without presenting your opinion like an over emotional teen?

Assuming the whole vermaelen this is true, which apparently it isn't, I think that's pretty close to the mark. Madrid and Barça always seem to need to get one up one the other, and this isn't a great attempt by Barça to do this.

Madrid's one was a false claim, this is just a dig by barca at that. They obviously don't mean this unlike marca.
