Ok Cuadrado then, I've read that he's very strong defensively as he used to play RWB and also very, very good at going forward from the videos I've seen, perfect, exactly what we need.. but! isn't he being rated as €50m by his club? Also prefer to keep Rafael.
Cuadrado is not very good defensively according to David Amoyal who translates Di Marzio articles.
Benatia, Vidal and Cuadrado

Yeah I thought Barcelona could do better, with all due respect to Mathieu and VVermaelen. They're good at buying attacking and midfield players but not so much defenders.Barca are truly dubious when it comes to buying defenders the past few years. Off the top of my head I remember the crock Gabriel Milito, Caceres, Chygryinsky, Mathieu and now Vermaelan potentially. Wonder what goes on in their scouting department.

Always thought they missed out on Thiago silva when heaved to PSG - instead they opted to play Mascherano out of position.
Barca don't like to spend big at CB so Thiago Silva was above their price range for CB.
They make do with cheap signings or makeshifts for some reason.
Juve are coming across as embarassingly desperate....we should just pull out or offer £35m take it or leave it offer.

If we really wanted him surely it would have been done by now? Juventus seem desperate to sell yet we are staying quite and even briefing the press that we aren't interested. I just don't think it's happening.
It's obvious Juve want to sell. All these stories are just an attempt to start a bidding war.
My question is: why are they so keen to sell? Do they know something about Vidal we don't? Are they desperate for cash? He was a big player for then last season. So why the keenness to get rid?

I think this is the first time La Stampa have spoken of a deadline. They're supposedly more reliable when it comes to Juve matters.

Kinda got my hopes up for Benatia over Vermaelen. Don't think we need both.
Depends on whether you think Michael Keane and Blackett should be considered full members of the first team. If not, five central defenders isn't too many if you play with three at the back. It's a lot of money, though, if we spend 15 on Vermaelen and 35 on Benatia, we will have spent 100 million this summer. Probably doesn't leave much for a midfielder/winger.
We'll buy Vermaelen to play LCB.
Benatia can play RCB or center of the 3 probably.
I don't see why people saw Benatia as a Vermaelen alternative in this system. We may end up buying only Vermaelen but that's not at the cost of Benatia or Hummels probably.
I'd be amazed if either ended up at Anfield. Both could do much better for themselves.
