Unavailable, and refusing to comment are 2 very different things.

Wonder which one is the true quote.

Regardless, it's nothing more than what you would expect. If they were available to comment, it's abundantly clear that this season they will NOT be commenting until the deals are done. Deal not done. No comment.

Denial is an act of silent confession.

Just sayin... or saying nothing... the price may go up.

Vidal trending at the moment (nothing new there I suppose) I honestly think the only reason we won't sign him now is if for some odd reason we don't want him.

Absolute bullshit of the highest order.

Why would we ask that? He's still going to have a medical regardless of a fee being agreed or not. It's not like we're paying half of it up front before the medical is it? Twitter bellend's are typing any old bullshit and just inserting Vidal's name to get their tweets retweeted 10 million times.

Think what he's trying to say is that they didn't report it.

I could be wrong though.

Well I'd imagine we'd want to know the exact situation with his knee before agreeing a fee, if everything looks fine we can bid as much as we want, if there are slight risks involved we might not want to go as high. It's the Daily Star though, so still likely rubbish.

Someone better stick that omid guy on suicide watch if Vidal does ever move.

Indeed. They reported personal terms have been agreed (in principle), but Vidal is still yet to decide on the move.

Which is why we apparently asked the Chilean national team about his knee surely? I mean, by the logic the Star is making up, what's stopping us offering 100 million just so we can take a look at his knee then saying 'sorry, it's fecked, we'll give you half'?

If we did a agree a fee we felt was steep and his medical showed his knee was knackered, we'd just ask Juventus to renegotiate or we'd pull out. We don't have to buy him once we've agreed a fee.

Sorry, I'm not having a go at you. I'm just extremely tired of the Daily Star masquerading as a newspaper that claims to contain actual news from actual journalists and I'm even more fed up with the nonsense that's posted regarding Vidal every single bastard day.

I think we are just trying to convince each other that this deal is happening. Nothing new, Vidal agreed/no official bid etc etc..

We don't comment on transfer speculation. Ever.
United's first offer for Fabregas was rejected by the Spanish club, prompting executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to return to the UK from the club's global pre-season tour ahead of schedule last Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference in Yokohama, Japan, Moyes revealed: "As I understand it, Ed had a response (to the first offer). We have made a second offer but Ed is dealing with it rather than me."

last summer when Sky Sports suggested we may be challenging Arsenal for the Ozil deal, we quashed it within 40 mins.
Didn't we also refuse to comment on the Herrera and Shaw speculation or did I make that up? Regarding Vidal though, if I were them, I'd be sick to death of denying it.

Could be just one of those things where they either didn't have the answer or no one was available to give it. Equally we could be willing to let it run as we're doing something else and the added attention on Vidal helps. I'm only guessing, but I'd assume the reason we knocked down the Ozil story was we genuinely weren't in for him and didn't want to raise expectations and get slated by supporters for not signing a player we didn't want to sign in the first place.

It could be a case of certain stipulations being added to the bid if his knee isn't 100% which is why they might want a medical BEFORE they put it the bid.

Re those United being unavailable to comment:

That doesnt change anything. We could have crushed the rumours but didnt....or no one was available to comment. The latter makes more sense I guess. Also I doubt this is true at all.
