Hang on, when did £100k a week, ala £5m a year become a non significant wage to clear off your books :annoyed:

When you receive almost £100 million in the new Premier League television deal, for one season, stand to make a similar amount this season, in addition to a further £40 million in Champions League related money.

Mignolet costs them £2.5 million a year; hardly a club-changing saving.

The Premier League is awash with cash right now.

He was only on circa. £5 million a year at Liverpool. Hardly ground-breaking.

They'd have been as well off keeping Reina, not signing the fraud that is Mignolet and pumping the circa. £20 million they'd save (£10 million transfer fee plus £10 million in wages over four years) on a proper centre-back last season.

Hmmm:

Reina didn't cover himself in glory there. His fall from grace has been so spectacular, he's a liability for Liverpool these days.

Reina's been such a disgrace this season I bet his name was in all three envelopes Brentan produced back in August.

So we've actually gone from considering a bid for Cuadrado to making one in the space of feck all time? Seems like the preparation has been done before the consideration :p

Go ahead and find my quotes on Mignolet and you'll just endorse my point.

Reina did look shaky toward the end of his Liverpool career but he's still a better bet than Mignolet in my view.

Mignolet's final season at Sunderland, in hindsight, is grossly exaggerated.

Begovic

Rafael - Shawcross - Nastasic - Baines

Diame

Fellaini----------- -----------Cazorla

Michu ---------------- -------------------Suarez

van Persie

Honourable mentions to Mignolet, Zabaleta, Ivanovic, Vertonghen, Bale, Ki, Mulumbu, McCarthy, Lallana, Long, Ba and Defoe.

Not happy with that! Why don't we consider and prepare bids anymore ffs, etc?

His last season is grossly exaggerated yet you had him in your "honourable mentions" for the midway team of the season...

Highlighting a few good performances in the halfway point of the season doesn't mean I rate the lad. Also, I stated specifically that "in hindsight" his performances that season were grossly exaggerated.

What's wrong with that?

Just for the record, do you rate Mignolet highly?

Not particularly. I think he's a solid keeper. For Sunderland he was one of the better keepers in the league, but since making the step up to a bigger team he's looked just ok. I want him to be given another season before we contemplate replacing him.

Who wouldn't rate Miggy, la

That consideration escalated quickly, huh?
.. My god the british media search for every opportunity to make ''sensational journalism''

Yeah, but Vermaelen would become the priority then, not just merely a stand-by option.

What if Barca were left with Dani Alves, Cuadrado and no new centre-backs?

Well they've been neglecting buying a CB for over four years now, who's to say they won't carry on? Well, they did sign Mathieu to be fair.

Reina wasn't that great for Napoli last season IMO. That said, don't understand why he'd go to Bayern when they've got a keeper who many regard as the best around. Unless Pep has a bizarre fit on, Reina is barely getting a look in. Don't understand why he wouldn't rather go elsewhere and play regular football. He's not great but I'm sure there's a few sides out there that'd take him as their regular.

Have Sky Italia been at all accurate regarding Vidal? I can't remember who said what anymore

I know it's the same content, just to have the origin (on twitter at least) of it:

As soon as you see a tweet that starts with 'according to Sky Italia' the best advice I can give you is to stop reading.

Well, that depends.
If it comes from Di Marzio i'd say it's at least worth reading, he's usually well informed.
