If we don't get that sort of bids then they hardly are. Although the quoted price seems low (which by the way is unsubstantiated and probably pure guesswork), we'll hardly see them go for much more than around 15m pounds each.

Then might as well keep them. Maybe sell Cheech for 15 million if he wants to leave.

Loads of similar level of players to Kagawa have gone for 20 million pounds or so in the last 12 months.

Then whe should just keep them. I doubt Kagawa really wants to leave. Chicharito may be a different case.

Would surely be the worst time for him to leave. Now it looks like we'll play 2 up front, and with VP already missing a few games to start the season while he catches up his fitness!

Didn't we buy him for like 15 mil? His value has only gone down since then.

We got him cheaper because he was on his last year of his contract and wanted to come here and hence wouldn't have signed a new contract.

Similar to How Real got Kroos cheaper.

To be honest, I would take a straight Chich+Kagawa swap for Koke. While it would never happen, I'm just thinking hypothetically.

Everyone would, i guess. Not sure what we would do with Koke and Herrera and whether they can work together in a 2 though.

We should ask for 40m Euros and then meet them half way.

I think it depends a lot on what the players in question want to do (assuming they'll be told that they're both squad players and not first 11) because at that price especially we don't really stand to gain a lot.

The pair of them shouldn't be valued at less than £40m. Both are only underrated because they're not regularly starting in their best positions. Kagawa is a superb #10 and Hernandez is a guaranteed 20/25+ gps striker if he's a regular starter.

Honestly if we were buying them in today's market we'd be looking at a £50m combined fee. (Bearing in mind that we got Kagawa cheapish, and since then transfer inflation has been massive.)

Personally I don't think we should be considering selling either just yet except for a big, big fee. There's so much dross in our squad that could be sold off - Anderson, Fellaini, Cleverley, Nani, Valencia. Why sell good players? Top teams need quality players on the bench - you can't sell someone just because they're good enough to be a starter elsewhere, not if you want to win trophies.

If we are actively looking to sell them and are inviting bids then that would explain the lower prices, you never get as much when you actually want to sell unless it's a very special player you are looking to cash in on as a smaller club.

Agree.

Agree if they want them, they have to have something we want and it's not the kind of money they're offering :)

It's seems very strange that Sampiola would let the cat out of the bag to such a degree. He even went as far to quote a price.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vidal or his agent asked him to make the comments to try and help things along.Or maybe he's just a strange kijd of guy.

Well the Chile press ran stories a few weeks ago saying that we were asking for his medical notes on his knee from the NT, so it kind of backs it up. I doubt a NT manager can be used as a pawn as suggested, and i doubt telling the world we're worried about a dodgy knee would help things along. It's probably inside knowledge he has from Vidal himself and the fact we've apparently approached the Chile NT for information on his knee.

All of you asking about transfers; we're going to have to wait for the manager. I believe we'll sign a player

Yes Paddy!!

Poor Stewart Pierce. First they sell Lascelles and Darlow without his green light and now the yard sale continues. Lansbury's linked with Burnley too.

understandably defenders are being mentioned to sign but I think Tyler Blackett has certainly forced his way into the managers thinking

Hint hint nudge nudge

A CB would be the least to get my muppets juices flowing somehow.
I know it was only pre season but I really hope Paddy is right for once and LvG was as impressed by Blacket as we were.

We're signing a midfielder then, lovely!
Or Cavani.
My thoughts exactly. He was getting bombarded by Vidal tweets but chose to follow that up with 'understandably defenders are being mentioned'. Trying too hard to avoid responding about Vidal if you ask me... ;)

Paddy knows how to use twitter?!

MUTV should show a live tweet session from Paddy

We should not keep players we're not going to use. Add their wages on top of the transfer fee and you'll have a substantial sum of money.

If we'll keep Chicarito we'll probably have to let Wilson and Keane out on loan or even permanently. And why keep Kagawa and go for another midfielder at the same time.

It's true that similar level players are moving for that sort of sums but this is usually to top level clubs who can afford that sort of transfers. And I doubt we're selling to those clubs. The italian and spanish lower level clubs will hardly pay 20m for either of them.

According to Rummenige in the tomorrow edition of SportBild Reus clause is at £20m for 2015 ...
