Basically Ogden saying he has no clue whats going on or has been for the past few weeks as he's been in Brazil, so this could easily have passed by everyone.
Ogden covering himself for not sniffing this out early like he usually does or what? Who should we trust? I'm confused newspapers don't randomly pop up at 12 midnight and say a player is a done deal for no reason
Ogden hasn't got a clue, it seems like nobody has at the moment.

While I don't think it'll happen, no one said it'll be announced "in a few hours". It was a translated quote. It doesn't literally mean in the middle of the morning.
The fact that he actually knows how and when to move off the ball, and can pass the ball forward with a bit of creativity and speed means he'd improve us quite a bit. He'd also instantly be our most energetic midfielder and best tackler.
What I would worry about though is that as much as he'd be exciting in possession, we still wouldn't control games properly. He'd make us slicker, but I don't think he's really one to control the tempo of a game. He really feeds off of the energy of others (which Bilbao usually have/had in spades) more than he sets the tempo like say Modric.
So he'd improve us, but like you say I couldn't see him alone making us quite as solid as we're looking to be.
As long as he can help make us better than 16 other PL teams, we can worry about marquee players next season. They won't be coming to a club outside of the CL in any case.

I quite like it when a 'Spanish Radio Station' calls something. They called Thiago to Bayern before any of the other media outlets, as they have done with a few other Spanish transfers. I reckon that there could well be something in this.
Didn't a Spanish Radio station also call Thiago to United first?
I always find it really weird. Like, you never hear Radio1 or 5live calling anything in Britain.
In France it's also a Radio, RMC who is the most reliable source.
They called Thiago to United aswell tbf.
Would be dissapointed if Sanchez is available and we didn't go in for him.

It just seems like such an alien concept in England, for radio stations to have the inside track on transfer dealings. Seems quite common across Europe though.

Sounds alot of money for Herrera? It's not my money and i don't care but surely Vidal would be a better option to go for

I thought it was Cadena Cope that broke the Thiago to Bayern news. If I remember correctly people thought it was rubbish at first because the guy was mixing up his words saying he had never broken news like this before. That was broken early in the morning too though, around 1am ish.

Yea after doing some research you're both correct it was Cadena Cope. Both Cadena Cope and Cadena Ser are regarded as reliable sources in Spain.
If it's true, I wonder why didn't we activated his clause a bit earlier if he was one of the main midfield targets. Maybe Fabregas and Kross were the primary targets, Fabregas signed and Madrid are after Kross.

I think Atletico Madrid are trying to sign Lukaku on loan which is holding up that deal not costa's release clause. I have seen hime few times and he looks a hard working honest player - as we know United have a good scouting report on hime, let's just hope he will solve some off our midfield issues.
How reliable are they exactly? Could easily all be basing that story off each other, no?
