A colleague I work with who recently joined our company actually knows someone who is in the team responsible for bookings etc of Hollands NT at the WC, and there is a lot of rumours around the squads etc but apparently one of the few that are coming from this that apparently seems to be the most "believed" one, is that Perez has signed an agreement with United in priciple, simply the club negotiation to forgoe as well as people saying that United have put an improved bid in for Khedira, although that one doesn't seem to be generating much heat but Perez apparently signed a pre contract before the world cup and it's doing the rounds at the training grounds in the WC..
Which Perez?

What do you think about this signing.?

Fairly excited as you can probably tell by the emoticon. :) He's not the greatest central midfielder around but is quality all the same, has loads of experience, an bit of a Roy Keane-esque leadership ability that rubs off on team-mates, tenacity and good box to box ability (finishing needs a bit of polish though). The bigger the opposition (vs United, Madrid, Barcelona) the better he gets so that's another good thing. jojojo makes a good summary of his skill set. I think Ander's a player that'll really blossom and take a step up in performance while in England. He's one of the few Spanish midfielders that are more English than Spanish in that they're more suited to counter-attacking football while being decent in possession (Fabregas, Javi, Koke, Alonso in his younger days, Arteta before the legs gave way).

I won't believe it until he's pictured holding a United shirt, and after 500 appearances, a testimonial and an amusing speech at his retirement after-dinner speech televised by MUTV standing next to Jim Rosenthal looking surprisingly awkward with a microphone for someone who's been on the telly for 30 years

Thanks. Good to see your posts again.

Wait a minute! An actual natural midfielder? As in, a footballer who plays his best football in the centre midfield position?

This is a very new feeling.

:D

Seems good mates with both Mata and De Gea. Can only be a good thing.

That's not "good mates". That's "Brokeback" territory.

What I like about this signing, is that I would take a mobile midfielder above anyone else. The creativity will not be an issue if we move the ball faster to attacking players.

The idea of getting Strootman is growing on me too.

He openly refuted the claim and didn't respond when prompted regarding United.
Ah ok. It does sound promising but right now I'm excited by Herrera. I havent seen enough of Perez to have an opinion to be honest.

If it is true then that might be the scummiest thing I've ever heard from a football club.

Like I say, "if".

I feel like at this stage if I ever met someone from the Basque region I could have a detailed conversation with them about the merits and demerits of their various local news publications.

Why would you use your dead brother against the club if it wasn't true?

Maybe the whole birthday thing was just a culmination of this stuff, or maybe he complained about his birthday publically instead of having to tell the world that his brother was dying. I don't know, it's a stretch, but I just can't believe you could use that excuse if there wasn't at least some truth to it

Interview Toure gave is definitely legit. I wouldn't be so quick to assume he is lying here either, you'd have to be pretty cold to use your recently dead brother as way of engineering a move away from football club or something.

Yaya is colder than a penguin's kneecap.

On the flip side if Toure is using his brother's death as an excuse to engineer a move from City he's equally, if not more scummy.

Who actually is Howard Nurse?

And surely the Toure scenario flips both ways - if he was so concerned about his brother, why didn't he not go to the WC? What City did was distasteful as heck, but he's no better.

If I was him I wouldn't have gone to the world cup

No one can doubt it now :D

It's Howard Nurse. He knows jack shit. I thought he was banned on here?

edit

Bah he isn't. He's the nob that trolled everyone a few weeks back by saying there was "big news", kept posting pictures of United players on his Twitter account. I can't even remember what the news was, but it was a troll.

He's a muppet.
