Moyes really is a bellend!

He also said that Fellaini is not a number 10, nor is he a midfielder that can play in front of the defence.

THEN WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SIGN HIM FOR?!?!?!
Have you even read the article? He doesn't say anything bad about Fellaini at all, it's actually quite the opposite so how you're labelling Moyes a bellend after this article is pathetic tbh. Do you know Moyes personally or anything about his personality to label him a bellend? If not I'd pipe down to save yourself further embarrassment.

You're the one embarrassing yourself here, not me!

I read the article yesterday....We didn't need Fellaini or any player of his type/style.

Go on, tell me, what was the reason we signed Fellaini? Why did we sign him?

Because Moyes, rightly or wrongly, viewed him as a box-to-box midfielder who was, part of, the solution to our midfield problems.

You can argue it was the wrong player, you can argue it was evidence that Moyes didn't grasp the differences in United and Everton, but I think it was very obvious why we signed him.

Thats my point....Fellaini is not the box to box midfielder we need. He's not that kind of player. Hence why I really don't get why we signed him.

If it was to play as he did at Everton, then I would have at least understood the decision

Can we switch back to aimlessly waiting for some transfer related tweets, than waste time and pages arguing about our former manager in a Twitter discussion thread?

How about we PM you after each tweet and you can reveal how many replies are allowed per subject?

I don't think thats correct. Moyes has since spoken about how great an engine Fellaini has/had and has spoken about him contributing at both ends of the pitch.

Whether you particularly agree that Fellaini is that player or not, and its perfectly reasonable to say that he isn't, it seems irrelevant in the context of the debate as to why he was signed.

Aye. I just never seen it in him I'm afraid. But I obviously never worked with Fellaini

I'd be quite surprised if Liverpool manage to hold onto him if those two are genuinely interested. I mean, he got in a bit of a huff when Arsenal were interested, he'll go ape-shit if they block his chance to go to Real.

Could see Liverpool holding out for one more season if only one of Madrid or Barcelona come after him. If its both its gonna turn into a dick measuring contest and he'll probably end up being sold for something like what Bale went for.

The state of OGaM ogam was rejected by the eagles with a higi haga style to avoid a calamitous end that brings odoriferous Saga

Yep, that makes perfect sense.

Courtois to return to Chelsea and Blues could sell Cech, Wilmots tells Houllier in conversation caught by Belgian TV http://as.com/diarioas/2014/06/23/english/1403530311_407607.html…

I think that'd be quite a risk letting Cech go. Courtois does look a top-class keeper but Cech is experienced in the division for a decade and probably still has 4 or 5 years in him at the level he is. We don't know after all how Courtois will settle here. There's almost inevitably going to be teething issues and if you have little choice (like us with De Gea) you grin and bear it, but I'm not sure whether voluntarily making that call when you don't have to is particularly wise.

Yes Courtois is a fantastic keeper but the change-over risks may mean they might be wise not to take it. If it means they lose out on him that's a shame for them but if they sell a proven player in this league and sign someone who takes a while to adjust, as is quite possible, it could cause problems with their short-term ambition.

Neither keeper will want to be second choice

They won't but the nod would still go to Cech, for me. If he was aging or significantly declining then, sure. But swapping proven and 'peak' with young and inexperienced to the environment is a massive risk. I think ultimately, unless he's willing to go on loan indefinitely, which is unlikely, Chelsea might have to accept Courtois could be the one who got away. The timing just isn't great for him to be where he is now in his development for Chelsea. Maybe a late developer (22 being v young for a keeper) would have been preferable; move Cech on when he's 36/37, get the other guy in aged 26/27.

But I don't think they have four years to hold off the decision.

What if the release clause is huge though? I reckon there's more chance of Suarez going via causing a mega shitstorm if Liverpool try to keep him, which they of course will do.

I don't think he'll throw a fit, whatever happens.

Depends what you mean by a 'fit'.

I could see him just not turning up to training and flying straight to Madrid. If Madrid tap him up they'll get him to do almost whatever it takes to get his move. Even Bale missed training without permission.

After the £40,000,001 debacle last year, we can be fairy certain that any ambiguity in his release clause has been completely hammered out

Mathieson must be the least itk local reporter ever, he's shite.

I guess it depends on the circumstances. If Barca &/or Madrid make their intentions public then I don't think he's just going to sit there and stay quiet if and when the bids get rejected.

It's not like hs sat there and stayed quiet when Arsenal were in for him. He'll be that but keener to move to Spain, plsu he'll be bitter about the LFC boss coming out and saying he ignored his contractual rights last season. He's gonna kick up a massive fuss if the interest is genuine.
