YES just what we needed today and let us all speculate. I heard the second is the deadline so this would tally up. The longer it goes quiet the better chance we have and the more unbearable it gets.

Just out of interest, how was the reliability of the Chilean media in the reporting of Sanchez to Arsenal? Did they call it right early or have him joining Liverpool or Juventus first?

The reason I ask is they keep reeling me back into this when I'd convinced myself it's not happening. They're like a dog with a bone with this story and seem certain he wants to join us.

He's slow for a wide player and he's not a natural winger. I don't see the point. We'd be spending a record fee on further unbalancing our squad. Pointless.

I agree with you, it's a pointless purchase because of our needs, but we don't need to reinvent a player to do so, Cavani is fast amongst the strikers. And he has enough speed to play on the right side, he did for Uruguay during the most part of his career, and was most of the time their best player.

It's a difficult one. So much noise in Italy and Chile and absolutely nothing in England.

I much prefer this way of us dealing in the transfer market to last summer but it does end up with me endlessly refreshing this thread (whilst I should be working) only to find out no new information.

Wouldn't it be a positive all the noise is coming from Italy and Chile?

This summer has proved all British based journalists know feck all in what's going on with United.

Let's assume we're in for him, I think this transfer is quite similar to the Mata one. We're using intermediaries here IMO, it makes sense. Juventus say they haven't received an offer nor have they talked to us directly. We have given Vidal's agent the 'job' to discuss terms with Juventus and present them our offer. If they accept, we pay the money agreed to Juventus without actually ever talking directly to them, having already agreed terms with Vidal and his agent.

Ogden reckons Hummels is still on our 'radar' inside the article. Hard to believe Hummels is more of a realsitic target than Vidal.

By the way, in that last tweet Ogden says we are still interested in Vermaelen too.

When I see English media linking us with Hummels for sub £20m figures, fair to assume the English media know shite all.
I don't really care where the noise about Vidal is coming from, there is way too much noise about it for it to be bs in my opinion.

A lot of the 'off' crowd in the Vidal thread cite the British press not jumping on the bandwagon meaning there's nothing in it but Italian and Chilean media looking for clicks. When you see what little the British media do have to offer when it comes to United transfer gossip, I'm not worried if they aren't jumping on the Vidal bandwagon.

I suppose it's understandable if there is no noise in England, when Felicevich is reported to be presenting United's offer directly, opposed to the club itself.

Just because a transfer doesn't happen, it doesn't meant here wasn't serious interest. Personally I believe there was there were serious efforts at some point in trying to secure both Thiago and Sneijder. Obviously neither happened and that could be for any number of reasons.
