Crazy, that would be a huge leg up towards meeting their FFP restriction - I guess they want ALL the players then?
Depends how cheap he could get him for, at say £20m or below, I think Lavezzi would be a good signing. The Cavani one, due to his position makes little sense however.
They would lack serious depth in the defence if they let Marquinhos go
But LvG says he is only going to sign players for the long term not short term so even Vidal is probably at the maximum age of any player he would sign.
Also PSG will want to sell Lavezzi and Cavani at a total fee of what they would pay for Di Maria which I don't believe they will get

Cavani is a Van Gaal type player, can play along that front 3, works hard at the top of the pitch and does not shy away defensively either. How ever i can't see Van Persie not being played in the middle, and the whole reason he's supposed to be unhappy is that he's played wide in the 3 for PSG.
If we do sign Cavani I hope we make him play with a bag over his head.
Was good at Napoli in the few games I watched. Never watched PSG but felt he was poor at the world cup.
Best PSG player vs Chelsea in both legs last season I felt. That's about as much as I saw him in a PSG shirt though.

Given how often LVG has gone on about our lack of defenders and how we have too many attacking players, I would be pretty annoyed if we got another AM/ST. Also, he's already stated that he sees Roony as a #9/10 and not a #7/11, so it's unlikely he'll play him on the wing right after saying that, especially with Rooney being on form.
LVG has already said we have too many strikers which is why he is implementing 352, so he can get two on the pitch at the same time. So i don't see him being interested in Cavani.
This Cavani thing stinks of PSG desperately trying to flush out interest from someone to generate money for transfers, problem for them is other than Arsenal no top teams really need a striker right now.

would rather have reus than cavani. he would probably octs round about the same and can fit in a 4-3-3 as well. but he doesnt work as hard defensively as cavani does.

Seriously though while Cavani would be a good signing for L'pool, Rodgers seems to be more interested in quantity over quality so far this window, can't see him wanting to pay £30-40m for Cavani.

I'd rather not sign Cavani though. We have to change our formation because we're so top heavy, adding another forward (another relatively slow one at that) would be stupid.

The thing is he will not be. He complained last year he had to play on the wing for PSG. If we are playing a 4-3-3 I'd rather spend more money and get a proper winger in Di Maria or Reus rather than use a make shift winger.
