Well it's not going to be Reus or someone like of that ilk, so I don't know why you say that. A lot of their signings are pretty mediocre, but Lovren would be a great addition who would immediately make a marked difference.
He is a good player but is he worth £20m odd million they are paying for him. Also they are stacked in central defense. They have Agger, Sakho, Toure, Srktel and Lovren to play in two positions.

Remind me where we finished last season...
Are you so daft to realize you finished there mainly because of Suarez? He is gone and you have done squat to replace him. You are making the same mistake we did to not replace Ronaldo (yet we at least competed) and Spurs trying to replace Bale with a bunch of players. Its works on paper but not in reality.

Lovren is lot better than most of them, if not all. Besides Skrtel, Sakho and Lovren himself, the other centre backs don't look like they have a future there or are pretty poor.

I wouldn't say £20M is an extortionate amount of money. Lovren was widely regarded as Southampton's best player last season among many Saints fans and if Lallana is going for £25M and Shaw £27M, then £20M for Lovren is the standard market rate.

Man you have to feel a bit for Southampton at the moment, they will be like Blackpool by next month if they keep this up!.

Because it bordering on asset striping now, that's how. Not for a second saying that's what they're actually doing btw.
Well its not their fault. They did try their best to keep hold of their players but they just aren't big enough to do so (no offense to them off course).

Did they really try though? I mean to sell that many first team players, is them actually trying? You're telling me that if they tried they couldn't keep someone like chambers for another year or two at least? Or is the money too good to turn down for the owners? Unless they invest a fair bit of that money, it'll look like its asset stripping.

Disclaimer: not accusing them of actually asset stripping.

If the Di Maria deal goes through, then its similar to the Herrera deal in the sense that it was very hush-hush. Also where does that leave us with Vidal? I hope its not one or the other. Vidal is priority.

Thats the thing with smaller clubs. All their players have a value marked and if that value is reached, then whether they need the money or not, they will be sold and lets be honest, small clubs always need more money. I mean no one in their right mind would reject deals like £26m for Llallana and £27m for Shaw. Those are huge sums of money for a club like Southampton.

:lol:Very good!
He's the bestest 3rd choice striker in the world, don't you know?

I was looking on the official Liverpool forums earlier when the Remy deal fell through and loads of them had said that Remy was the 2nd best striker in the league behind Sturridge (before the deal fell through). Pretty funny but expected by them.
