Jup, the original tweet claims he ''holds concrete offers for Vidal'', doesn't specify wether it's contract offers or offers to Juventus for his services, but suggests that it's contract offers taking the last part into consideration.

Seems like a vague tweet, same guy that initially reported about the airport-interview (on Twitter at least), could be another one of those?

Late tomorrow I'll be expecting a tweet from Vidal along the lines of "Sto esserti per la Premier League il secondo posto vincitori!"

These De Vrij links are silly, If we were really after him then we'd have signed him by now.. Neither is his asking price too high and nor are his wage demands by the looks of things.. It's clearly his club/agent trying to increase interest in him to get either a higher fee/higher wages..

Van Gaal could have put him on standby list while he assesess our squad and Woody tries for Hummels.

Will do, then by midnight the caf will be in meltdown that either a deal hasn't been done or it's turned out nothing is going to happen.

I think things will move fast Damo. Monday was always going to be judgement day. For what its worth, I think we've had a ballpark figure fleshed out for a while. Juve have made too many signings lately, they know they're about to get a large cheque in the post.

First review:

"Football? Bloody hell!", as Bill Shankly once said.

By the final chapter of this book I was kneeling on the floor of my living room, floods of tears pattering onto my replica kit, wailing like a hysterical gibbon. My dogs, Rushie and Aldo, wailed in solidarity with me. They understood; my wife didn't. I felled her with a right hook.

Imagine if all you ever wanted was a carrot cake, and then, after 25 years without one, you see your most loyal friend walking towards your house smiling, carrying a carrot cake with your name on it. As he reaches your drive, he tumbles calamitously into a ditch. You rush out to find him writhing in agony amongst a cakey-muddy mess, a hungry raven pecking at his flesh. That is how we Liverpool fans feel about the 13/14 season (the raven is Tony Pulis, by the way).

This book is not just some cynical cash-in to make money out of Irish people. Paul Tomkins has truly encapsulated the modern-day Liverpool Football Club experience in literary form: the misty-eyed sentimentality, the endless self-mythologizing and, above all, the abject, humiliating failure. YAWN.

If we're gonna play 3 at the back, we need more CB's & better quality than Jones & Smalling more importantly.

We just lost Rio & Vida & you still keep shitin on about how Jones & Smalling are adequate replacements? :wenger::wenger:

Good use of smilies, that has put me right in my place.

Pray tell, when exactly has Smalling not looked the requisite standard when given a run of games at CB ? The same can't be asked of Jones owing to him not being played there consistently.

Thought i'd brighten the place up..

WTF is "Pray Tell"?

Is that some kind of phone-in service for Born-Again Christians, or the new "Priest Hotline" from Fr. Ted?

Smalling looks really uncomfortable on the ball quite alot of the time & makes the simple thing look difficult. He's good in the air though, so i'll give him that.

Jones is alleged to be Vida's replacement, yet isnt commanding in the air whatsoever, nor has he the physical strength to deal with strong attackers / CB's in the box. He also dives in all the time & causes himself injury when the situation didnt require him to do that. His decision-making is poor alot of the time..

Time will tell if they up their game, but LvG would be mental to rely on that pairing for this season & not bring atleast 1 top-class CB in.

Ideally, we should be bringing in 2 top-class CB's if we're gonna play 3 at the back now. All 3 of our CB's are injury prone - regardless of their quality..
