Who is Emmett Kennedy? Some no mark DJ in Cork?

He called the RvP transfer before anyone else. So somehow this guy has a good contact.

How far in advance are we talking exactly?

Or maybe he just got lucky? Just because someone calls one transfer doesn't mean they have a good contact.

I think it was either a week or a few days. Nonetheless, I don't think he's completely reputable mind you.

He's not a wannabe ITK. The only other transfer 'ITK tweet' that was United related he's posted on was RVP and confirmed a done deal 4 days before it was official I think. Says he has a contact and fully trusts that contact. Looking at his TL, I don't see him being a WUM or having a reason for posting that unless he really had a contact. He doesn't have a track record at all.

Had an irresistible offer from Plymouth Argyle.

FM wonderkid. Scary thing to find during a medical.

So glad they did find it though, God knows what would have happened to the poor lad if it hadn't been found. No one deserves this, let alone a 19 year old kid who's obviously very athletic too. Hope he'll be all right.

Yeah it's disgusting, why can't we be like that.

We were very competitive around 1997-2000 and 2006-2010.
We failed miserably to reinforce from a position of power and we were arrogant in thinking the good times would last forever.
We also underestimated the effect the oil clubs would have one the game.

Now we are playing catch up and we can spend big now, or really really big later.

Overpriced English players is the exact reason our national team is failing, no one takes a punt and they end up stuck at teams like Southampton who'll never have a chance of breaking into Europe meaning they'll never gain the valuable experience players like our old golden generation did (not like they did much better but certainly in terms of talent better than the dross they are now).

I honestly would hate us to become like Real Madrid. But I'd like us to be more competitive in Europe.

Because they can sign who ever they want.
I didn't mean to be like Real Madrid, I meant for us to be oozing class all over the park, their midfield now is just
We need to shift a lot of played first don't we.

That is because they can sign any player in the world if they want. When's the last time they missed out on their no.1 target? I honestly can't remember. they sign on average two world class players every summer.

ffs you are talking as if we won nothing since 2010. How many teams in England won more trophies than us since 2010?

It is frustrating how they just point and get whoever they want while we drag out a transfer for the whole fecking summer, how long would it have taken for us to get James Rodriguez... certainly not the few weeks Madrid took.

I am looking at the present and towards the future.. Chelsea and City have us outgunned at the moment.
Id like Van Gaal to at least start on an equal footing with Jose and Pellegrini.

I am not even talking about Bayern, Barca and Madrid.

They don't mess around, they just pay the required money.

I have an idea, spend €50M on Vidal and €50M on Di Maria and we would be well on the way to oozing class and kicking ass again.

I agree, but we both know that's just not gonna happen. Although we have these new super sponsorship deals in place I still feel the glazers will have limits every window. Everyone knows we need to spend £150m-£200m to catch up with everyone else, will the glazers release that sort of money? Will they bollocks. We have money, no doubt, but will we go and chuck £40-£50m bids around? Nah not for me sorry.
I like how we are keeping our transfer business a secret but it's not good for the muppets is it.
I really do hope we see some big signings come in over the next 6 weeks I also hope to see some of the shite get sold aswell.
A lot of players are playing for their Manchester United futures in the USA tour.

They havent exactly won the trophies their insane expenditure deserves though, have they?

Heres the thing Browinee, during the Galactico project Madrid didn't win anything for years but still were amongst the richest clubs on the planet because they always bought or aimed for the best players. People always want to see the best players and attractive football.

We haven't bought a marquee signing from a foreign league in a long time and since Ronaldo left and the Glazers high tailed it with the 80M, leaving us with Obertan, Owen and Valencia we haven't had that swagger or mistique we once had.
I have nephews and cousins growing up supporting City and Chelsea and I while I break out the treble '99 DVD on curry nights it we actually havent played like that in a very long time.
As more young people drift towards these exciting flashy teams, we are getting left behind and while the Glazers havent seen it hitting the pocketbook yet , if we carry on not winning the money will dry up and I do believe that is the primary driver for them. It is counter productive for them to limit spending in any way..that is cutting off their nose to spite their face.

They and LVG should be on the same page in bringing at least 2 marquee signings into the club (aka Di Maria, Vidal).
We have the money and the players are available for the right amount.. there is no excuse.

Woodward, are you listening?

This just means that van Gaal is going to be assessing him for the next 4 weeks. I don't think there's any new information there. Or at least not anything that's worth paying attention to.

LvG will give him a chance before consigning him to the rubbish heap.

Clevs isn't nowhere near CL quality, surprised that Everton are interested tbh - more of a Newcastle/Swansea type player and even their supporters wouldn't want him IMO.

True, but we dont look like winning a title anytime soon either
Id like a balance between buying marquee players and winning titles... and thats where LVG comes in.

No they wouldn't. That horrible petition that went round before the WC squad was announced has pretty much screwed Clev's
reputation. If he can get a transfer to Everton he would of done well

He'd be pretty good for Everton actually. I mean he isn't starter quality for us, but he's Everton level, imo which makes him a good squad player for us.

He has been starter for Championship winning teams at such a young age. Last season and a half is lower than previous level but he can be a decent player for us.

Out of our existing mids barring Herrera, Carrick he'd be the last one i'd move out.

They weren't happy with signing Barry and Mccarthy either. Now they rate Mccarthy as a 30 milion player and are very happy Barry signed permanently at that age.

The only reason I see us selling Cleverley at this juncture is because LvG isn't allowed to sell Fellaini and the club sentiment will prevent Fletcher being moved on, so he'll have to make room somewhere and Cleverley is an easy choice.
