Real are crazy. Adding Kroos and James to a CL winning side. Their squad will be good enough to make it a second time I think

They were 2 minutes away from not winning it in the first place. All teams will and are strengthening.

Benzema/New striker, Ronaldo, Bale, Rodriguez, Kroos and Modric will have no balance if they're playing against a top top team in the CL knock-out stages

I don't think they would have won the CL last season without Di Maria

In response to City and Utd fans bickering over the Nissan deal City signed.

That Turkish airlines advert was one of the best, shame we changed Aeroflot in that respect, but wow! Never knew they were paying so much to be our "official airline" or whatever it is they are calling themselves.

I said that about the Bayern side this year... winning the Champions League 2 years in a row is near-impossible, but having said that, adding Kroos + James to an already Champions winning side is FIFA Manager stuff.

Zidane influenced his decision a fair bit I think? We ended up signing Jones. Although I could be wrong about that.

EDIT: Adnan beat me to it

No you are right he called him, and explained him that he was going to help him settle in Madrid and in the club.

Meh. People thought Bayern would defend the CL too.

Yep. Bayern added Thiago and Gotze to an already staggering squad - even doing that is no guarantee of repeated CL success.

That said, it will happen one day, and this Madrid side may be the most star-studded ever if they get Rodriguez as well.

People said the same about Barca and Bayern.

Fact is it's been proven year after year that the UCL is an incredibly hard competition to retain.

Thats the thing, Di Maria was absolutely instrumental to them in winning the CL.
If RM want 40M for him, I really dont understand why we wouldnt pay that... unless Di Maria only wants the Champs League which in that case we are S.O.L

PSG are paying 60 million euros and 250k in wages apparently.

Adding Kroos and James is like a pale imitation of FM.

Not if they sell Di Maria and Khedira. They will have a lot of superstars but no one to do the graft. It will be similar to the Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo era where they won very little.

Sounds like someone's using Manchester United for contract negotiation reasons. Yet again.

Could honestly be a bit of both.
If there's been an obstacle to their negotiations and United contacted Real Madrid about his availability, surely Madrid will rush things a bit more if they're 'desperate' to keep him and perhaps pay him a bit more.

Suddenly it all makes sense.
My exact thoughts! RVP's probably been whispering in LVG's ear about Vermaelen and his talent. I'll be the first to admit that it wouldn't be that bad a signing. IF he's worth £6-7m, that'd be great. He was a very good defender only year and half ago, and hid versatility is right up Van Gaal's alley. Vermaelen will play the tactical Daley Blind role in some of our games.

They're all owned by City's owners, so effectively they all use the same pot of money.

This is why the argument of City ruining football makes sense. Their owners have depthless pockets and they can buy four or five assets and move the money around. It's basically like legal money laundering!

Vermaelen isnt a bad singing but I do feel as though we need a top level experienced CB (who doesnt spend half a year on the injury table)...why arent we going for Benetia?
