Very funny. Twitter is all we have, Twitter is why this thread exists. If we don't speculate using Twitter rumors then the mods may as well shut this thread.
There's speculating and then there's believing everything you hear. If Utd have doubts due to the price then I'd be sure the prices on Twitter are either incorrect or there are other concerns.

If they're willing to sell Pogba - and Chelsea being interested - we should be after him. I was quite happy to read that Chelsea were linked with Kroos a few weeks ago as it would have meant a slow midfield 2 for them (if Cesc was paired with him) but Pogba is a different type altogether. Do not want to see him at Chelsea.

Would people definitely take Vidal ahead of Pogba? He's currently the better player and at his peak but what, 5 years older or so? The biggest downside I see to Pogba is his agent. But the kid is an outstanding player.

Also, don't believe we're put off the Vidal chase because we're quoted a price that's probably below his MV at 34m. That's just silly. It's like not buying Di Maria for 35m.

Letting Pogba go for free then paying £50mil a few years later to bring him back, we will look great with that won't we.
Vidal is the better player anyway.

Is it? Is it really? I mean it's fairly obvious you would be pissed off in that scenario. Do you think you're less gullible than all the rest of us?

No its just we have been here so may times in recent years and you start getting cynical with these huge name players.
I'll admit that i thought it would be different this transfer window, and it still might be but it looks like we can add Vidal to the bin that includes Sanchez, Hazard, Fabregas, Lucas Moura, Thiago, Sneijder etc.

Edit. You realize i was being sarcastic with that orig post right?, i wasn't being serious with the smilie.

I think it's safe to assume that in a few days, when LvG has seen first hand how shit our midfielders are, we'll see some real activity on the transfer front.

These same English journalists who are all sure we're not interested in Vidal were also sure that Arsenal had agreed a deal for Khedira.

They're all clueless.

journalists really can't go wrong with the "NOTHING HAPPENING" line can they.

They can always upgrade it to "something happening" later.

The real in the knows are the ones who say a player IS happening, before everyone else, and the player signs . Very rare though

Is that the price proposed? I doubt they'll get 50m quid for him. Maybe 40m. In any case, I don't see much weight to the argument that we shouldn't buy him because we made a mistake in letting him go in the first place. Who the fcuk cares how that will look? I don't. It was a stupid mistake back then and whether we buy him or not won't change that...

We will look even worse if we let him join one of our rivals and he becomes one of the best midfielders in the game.

Vidal may be the better player NOW but Pogba is 6 years younger than him and I have no doubt when he hits his peak he will be a better player than Vidal is now.

It's more the fact he's already shown he's an utterly untrustworthy bastad, who obviously didn't want to play for us enough.
The rhetoric coming out of the club is we want players who specifically want to play for us. The De Geas and Van Persies.
It's hard to argue this chump wants to.

He looks thrilled.

That's his standard expression I think - I remember watching a U21 tournament game where Pearce had made him a key player, and he was atrocious. I think he either got sent off, or scored an own-goal or something like that but the look on his face never changed.

Probably a great poker player.

It will pick up when LVG delivers his first press conference tomorrow and it'll be ArturON!

Remember Moyes' first press conference a year ago? Everyone expected him to announce the signing of Thiago and it was such an anti-climax in the end. Sort of set the tone for the season I guess! :p LVG's conference tomorrow on the other hand should be anything but dull.

Clowns usually operate out of marquees & we already bought one last summer...

Clowns consider Fellaini a marquee signing.

Then prepare to be disappointed.

What Marquee signing? give some names.

You too. The current squad will struggle to get top 4, let alone challenge for the title, which is where we should expect to be.

We need a top quality midfielder. Herrera might be a success, but even that won't be enough to challenge. We should be breaking the bank for Vidal (and I still think he's coming), especially given the lack of other alternatives in midfield.
