They made about ten million on De Bruyne, they made a few quid on Luiz.

But heres the kicker, ..they paid 50 MILLION SHEETS for Torres!

All together now, trololololol :lol::lol::lol::lol:
Torres was the best/one of the best strikers in the world when they bought him, if he replicated his Liverpool form, £50million would be nothingand probably considered a bargian, considering Falcao, Cavani have all gone for north of £50million. Torres in his prime was better than both of them.

You could argue that Torres had already shown signs at the end of his Liverpool stint that he was past his peak, or at least wasn't going to replicate what he had done the season before. It was a big risk for Chelsea, and was a bad signing.

Nonsense. Torres had a season of utter gash behind him at the time of signing and a multitude of injury problems. I remember thinking at the time that it was a huge risk for a player that needed to recapture form. He'd been injured at the 2010 world cup and not looked too clever going into it. He scored 9 in 26 for Liverpool prior to January and 1 in 18 for Chelsea in the rest of the season.

It was quite apparent that his injuries were starting to catch up with him and he was losing his spark. When Chelsea bought him he was having an underwhelming season for Liverpool and he just didn't seem like himself at all. It was a questionable buy at the time, and now, it looks like a stinker.

Utter gash is extremely overstating it. He looked average, but when Kenny came back his performances did start to take an upturn.

Some BBC Manchester twitter account saying that Van Der Kraan told them Buttner will sign for Dynamo Moscow very soon.
I thought he would be going this window because I saw quotes from LvG saying how they played the way they set up against Spain because of the loss of Strootman to injury, an inexperienced back line, and a lack of a proper LB. He said he scoured the whole world for a LB and couldn't find one which suggests he doesn't rate Büttner at all (I know he didn't play much).

I find it strange how people want to compare our transfer dealings with that of Chelsea's. Their manager has been there for a full season, ours a few weeks and on duty with the Dutch team at the Wold Cup. Yet somehow, we're expected to wrap up these deals quickly. I'd start panicking if we've seen nothing a few weeks post WC.

Yeah if he doesn't fancy him when he is restricted to nationality cant see how he would feature when he has money to spend to assemble his team.

Yet no deal is concluded. I wouldnt be so confident on it - remember we have Woodward in charge!

They wouldn't finalise it because the didn't have a manager.

The point I was making was that even if LVG and Koeman aren't pals, it's irrelevant.

Miranda's the old one, right? Good player but would prefer Godin due to age.

The world will come to an end now, garay has finally been transfered or has he?:wenger:

BILD: Liverpool have started preliminary talks with #FCBayernconcerning Xherdan Shaqiri. Willing to pay up to €20m. #LFC

They were the first to call the Can deal.
Bild are reliable with most Bayern related news, wouldn't be surprised if this happens.

:lol:Sounds like his agent wrote this article:

"That would be welcome news to fans, he may be closer to 30 then they'd like, he may be overpriced, but he's a very good defender and Manchester United could do with that kind of help next season."

Edit: sorry for multiple posts.

Ezequiel Garay has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the past but it seems he is set to join Zenit St Petersburg from Benfica. The Argentine defender’s agent, Rafael Zurro, has been quoted as telling Ole: “The deal will be finalised without any problem, there will be news between Wednesday and Thursday.” Reports suggest that Garay will cost €20million.

The way is agent talk make me believed that Miranda is really coming and that he is trying to make us accept that fact.

Have to say Im pretty glad were not getting Garay, he has been impressive on the one off but he has no where near been one of the best defenders in the world.

I would immediately say the same for Vermeaaaaleeeeeaaaannnn and Miranda, although Miranda was just involved in a CL final and of course winning La Liga.

Regarding Hummels latest comments, I wouldnt be surprised to see us bolster just before the start of the season with a seasoned CB who is cheap and will sure us up until January where Hummels will come in. That comment he made of saying he would be open to it "eventually, just not this summer" suggests to me he will stay at least until Jan and we will get someone cheap and decent in to offer cover and of course LVG will turn them into starters.

Well Hummels wasn't exactly clear cut with dismissing a move this window. Simply said that at this stage he doesn't think he'd move this window. It read like a typical answer from a footballer who knows a move can happen at anytime.

Yeah I agree, but the movements we are making seem to suggest that were either going to sign him and have another option to rotate with Smalling and Jones or we will be selling one. Verm and Hummels would represent an amazing window in terms of the CB positions, like bring us up to elite level again.

Indeed it would. I'd be happy with Vermaelen now with a view to bring in Hummels or another WC CB in a years time. Let's see how it all pans out.

If they can get that much, it would be really impressive transfer dealing. I believe the above price tag is in Euros.

Look at this potential business:

Incoming transfers: Diego Costa (£32m) + Filipe Luis (£20m) + Fabregas (£27m) = £79m

Outgoing transfers: David Luiz (£50m) + Lukaku (£32m) = £82m

They end up with a profit of £3m while strengthening the squad. Amazing.

Add Mikel (£10m), Ba (£10m), Romeu (£5m), Bertrand (£5m), Moses (£5m), Marin (£5m), Kakuta (£2m) McEachran (£3m) = £45m.

More signings coming in with that £45m.

Any indication of price? I like Buttner. Definitely has something about him and always seemed to really appreciate bring a Utd player. Hope he has a good career.

Apparently Benfica will get only 5m......10m to Real Madrid and the rest to others
They can have him, it would seem Zenit are sort of an inbetween club that are willing to pay these stupid split payments and then other clubs can bid for those players in single payments. Am I right in thinking the PL doesnt allow transfers like this where you have to pay other clubs fees and what not.
