BREAKING: FIFA have blocked Barcelona's bid to publicly unveil Luis Suarez due to his biting ban.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

This ban really is serious about all football activity.

Makes you wonder what else poor Louie can't do. Did FIFA official's come around his house and take all spherical shapes away just in case and the big question is can poor Louie play FIFA on line or would he have to go around a mates house.

This must be truly baffling to the "FIFA love Barca" brigade, who in turn are no better than the recently disgraced "Fifa love Brazil" mob.

Liverpool fans

They will get a nice reality check in this year's transfer market. As if someone of Reus' calibre would go to Liverpool

I love how most United fans seem absolutely certain that the club's stature will ensure they can always sign big names but when it comes to Liverpool their history and status has no pulling power when it comes to signing players.

would be so fun to have Suarez entering a press-Conference and someone started removing all mirrors and covering the windows - and then asked all journalists to remove crosses

But will his mates risk getting their account banned if found out? Not sure if its worth the risk for them.

I never said we could sign pretty much everyone just because we're United, I don't think any club bar Real Madrid can make such a bold claim... and there are plenty of failed transfers which would make such a claim ridiculous. In fact if you look around here most of us try not to get soaked into that kind of muppetry again and are pessimistic we could pull off such a huge deal (for Vidal), because in the last few years under Fergie we refused to pay the few extra million (to agents) to make deals happen.

Anyway, some Liverpool supporters are completely the opposite and it shows. Anyone with half a brain can tell you Reus is never going to sign for Liverpool, if he leaves it will be for a club a tier above them on current terms - money, ability to win trophies - which effictively rules out Liverpool (Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester City and yes, also us).

If it was down to history, Aston villa would be above you in the pecking order. United don't need to use their history, we won the league last year. Liverpool get close and sell their only chance of winning it

True although United are a bigger club than Liverpool. We're bloody huge, up there with Barca, Real Madrid and Bayern.

Then there's Liverpool, Juventus, Milan...

Then there's Arsenal, Chelsea, Dortmund etc.

Then there's City

It is Reus, he is not going anywhere this season. I felt that the sanchez one was realistic.

It was only last year when we won the league, one bad season in about 25 years does very little to our stature. No Champions League football next year could be a problem but we will challenge for trophies next season and unless something spectacularly fecks up top 4 should be a given.

Hilarious. You enjoy your 'big club' status, but I know whose present squad I'd rather have.

They're under the false impression that because they had Suarez who was genuinely world class, that is the calibre of player they'll be able to attract now without realising they bought Suarez off the back off his first biting controversy and cheating Ghana out of the World Cup less than a year before. On top of that, they bought him from Ajax. No offence to Ajax, they're still a huge name in football but they're a bit like the dutch Liverpool when it comes to recent European endeavors.

Solid post man!

Club stature and money.

City just used money to sign the likes of Toure without CL. United can undoubtedly do the same.

Are you really denying that United are a bigger club than yours?

No, not at all. Just stating that as far as I'm concerned I'd much rather have a team challenging for trophies right now than have a nice honours list to look at on Wikipedia.

Exactly. I'm not saying United can't attract big names. However, I find it ironic when Liverpool's stature is dismissed when they are linked with the likes of Reus when they are also a big club able and able to offer Champions League football.

There's a difference IMO.

Liverpool have achieved CL after 4-5 season and have no immediately lost their best player, compare to United who're getting a big upgrade from their last manager and will be able to offer top money for class players. Also if Reus was available, I'm sure there'll be loads of teams fighting for his signature. I think he'll go to Bayern next season and be a great replacement for Ribery/Robben.

Fair enough.

Btw what are your views on Mangala?

I think it's a bit underwhelming signing considering his price tag.

We have only had one bad season in the last 2 decades, that is the big difference, we have pretty much been a dominant side in the PL before then.

It doesn't matter how much money your sugar daddies pour into you, you will always, always be little ol City playing in baby blue

Historically speaking they're a big club, but in financial terms, stadium, infrastructure etc. they are lightyears behind the top dogs... they are not even on Dortmund's level ATM. One title challenge in five years means nothing at all. They won't sign Reus... he's too big a name for them. There is a reason why they must target the likes of Lallana, Lovren, Markovic et al., the big names are not convinced they are up there just because they made the Champions League once in half a decade. I'm not saying Liverpool will have a bad season as I believe Rodgers will have them play decent football again, but they can't compete for the top players for various reasons.

Err...

The way you talk it's as if United winning trophies is ancient history...

We just won the league the season before last...

Couple of additions now and we'll be right back on top...

Also by your logic if Stoke gets a shiny new owner that spends half a billion, players should join them instead of traditionally bigger clubs like United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool ?

Bobby hush, you fluked your first league win and only won last season cause we had Moyes. Hush now ..

Hard to say. Haven't seen Magala or Benatia play much but my gut feeling said Benatia would be the better, safer signing. By all accounts Mangala has bags of potential but is a little raw and error prone at this stage. However, I'll put faith in the club's scouts who will have watched him regularly and obviously concluded he is worth the money.

Liverpool's history is different because it is just that, history. United, bar last season, still achieve things and still usually compete with the best. I think Liverpool will do quite well in the CL but they need to do it for a few years to convince people that they're re-establishing themselves as a European force.

Mate, we've got LvG. You should be sacred.

Yes, if those teams you mentioned are no longer challenging for trophies and unlikely to do so in the near future.
