Hey, if we focus on trying to get Hummels, maybe we'll forget about Vermaelen!

Not that I can see it happening, but I don't think there could be three better signings than Hummels, Di Maria and Vidal. Would have probably preferred Sanchez over Di Maria but good god that would make me sperm myself.

If we had champions league football id be confident of getting them but realistically I can only see us getting Di Maria but even that would be brilliant

Remember Newcastle getting compensation after Owen twisted his knee against Sweden in 06.

Can someone tell me more about this AndyMitten, is he really that reliable, does he work at a particular source, etc? I am quite new in following sources etc, didnt really bother me in the past.
An anagram of his name is "Damn Yen Tit" make of that as you will.

What would they have got if it ended his career?

It would have been "funny" if Barca had never been found out to have paid so much for him and FIFA owed them compensation for a career ending injury....

FIFA: "We'll pay his costs, £49m it says here."

Barcelona: "Actually it was closer to £71m"

Spanish Tax Office "I beg your pardon?"

He's pals with loads of people at United and always has them on his podcast. He wrote a TREMENDOUS book called United in the 90s which I recommend to anyone. Long career interviews with players from Cantona to Cole to David May to Butt to Martin Edwards. The guy is obviously clued up and has people in the club telling him whats up.

He writes for FourFourTwo magazine and has plenty of contacts around the footballing world. Lives in Barcelona. More importantly on Utd, he is the founder of United We Stand and is a massive Utd fan. Has plenty of contacts in the club and generally knows what he's talking about.

I'm yet to see him predict a transfer that hasn't been covered by the rest of the press already. But I've seen him get a few wrong, though. Definitely not as reliable as people here make him out to be.

Enzo Perez seems like an odd transfer. He hasnt really played alot of games in his career so far. He's 28, and hes under 270, which i think isnt too stable. A £20m bid seems too steep.

He's reliable but a lot of people make him out to be some god because of optimism or whatever else. He definitely has contacts within United though and he's probably as reliable as you'll get for us but he's not 100%.

How does how many games he's played make any difference? He used to be an average winger till he was moved into centre mid. He's just won player of the year.

Nobody is 100% reliable. They are dependent on their sources. Sources have their own agendas depending on what info they want out in public. That said, Mitten gets access that few other journalists gets. He's the only one to interview Woodward and even gets access to individuals who usually shun the media e.g. Eric Steele, Carlos Queiroz. He regularly talks to the United players too.

Not just that. What people don't get is that this transfer lark is not straightforward. FM has clouded peoples thinking when it comes to transfers. At any given time a club could be pursuing leads on several players for the same position. Many times moves depend on player x moving to club y but club y needs to be sure get player z to replace player x first etc etc etc. It's not as simple as bid, yes? no?, increase bid, yes, no?

Wonder what the english translation is.

"A lot of people are saying Robin Van Persie is out of action for the Netherlands Vs. Argentina this evening. I really hope people are not trying to deliberately wind me up about this.

In the absence of any concrete evidence, I best make enquiries with the man himself via telephone."

Yup. Also worth noting that just because a journalist says a player is close to signing for club X, but ends up signing for club Y, it doesn't mean what the journalist initially said was false. E.g. Graham Hunter during Thiago-gate. Yes, he ended up signing for Bayern, but he was still close to signing for United. Yet we still get people accusing Hunter of knowing nothing.

If anyone hasn't watched that Mitten video, it also says Van Gaal would prefer to work with a main squad of 20. They're will be departures of players "who haven't done as well as they would have hoped at United". He doesn't name names but it's pretty obvious who that could include.

A substantial amount of people are of the belief Manchester United should make haste with the exit of one Robin Van Persie. I, Rio Ferdinand, question these beliefs (there is an implication that Rio does not agree with these views). Stop annoying me at ONCE!!! No. I am making a phone call right away.

The last sentence is an attempt to dupe us into thinking anyone at Old Trafford cares what he thinks anymore.
