Fletch could have had a great & healthy summer, so he deserves a chance to see how he is during pre-season.

If anyone deserves it, then its Fletch - considering all that the poor fella's been through. He's better than Cleverely & Fellaini anyway..

I thought he was injured and was going to miss pre season? A toe injury or something?

Usually happens once we have had a bid accepted, the NDA kicks in, see De Gea, Herrera, Shaw, Kagawa, same thing happened just before we signed them rumours died down. I' guessing hopefully Argentina are knocked out today and we hear about a medical soon. (well we can only dream)

Bless, Jamie the destroyer with some good news. He's just luring us in before he crushes us all in a weeks time.

From that article:

Ángel di María is being monitored by Manchester United’s incoming manager Louis van Gaal, who has identified the Argentina and Real Madrid forward as a potential summer target. Germany defender Mats Hummels would also be open to a move to United if Borussia Dortmund agree to sell him.

If United were to land both players it could cost the club up to £75m, with the deals being financed by the sale of current players. Marouane Fellaini, Nani, Ashley Young and Shinjhi Kagawa are among those who Van Gaal may consider offloading.

Win or lose Argentina still will have another match to play

I'm convinced the Guardian hired him only to pretend he knows whats happening and write filler pieces when nothing is actually happening. Once anything actually does happen, up steps Daniel Taylor and Jackson fades into nothingness.

Hummels, who could cost £25m-30m, is an admirer of Van Gaal, with the 25-year-old aware of his coaching abilities having started his career at Bayern Munich when the Dutchman was in charge of the club.

The central defender, while currently happy at Dortmund, also acknowledges that United’s pedigree and status as one of the continent’s premier clubs makes Old Trafford an attractive proposition should the possibility of a move occur.

....

Not convinced at all

Agreed. I'd sell them both before Fletcher.

Jamie Jackson wrote a similar article about Vidal a couple of days ago and now has blanked him out completely from this.

He doesn't know much right now.

Pure speculation, nothing more.

Nothing in that at all. We're a closed shop. Of course, Jamie has a job to do, and he's getting as much click bait in there as possible.

First Vidal, now Di Maria. Seems like he's swinging towards whatever the foreign media are feeding everyone.

Been very quiet on the Rooney and Kagawa fronts this summer.

I'd actually expect one of them to leave. Problem is getting a buyer for Rooney, i guess.

Other than that Anderson ought to be a cert. Bebe, Young, Nani, Hernandez, Fellaini all possibilities.

Why do people still think Rooney leaving is a possibility?

Rooney signed a new £250-300k 5 year contract just a few months back, safe to say rooney will probably end his career at united.

That is what i thought...why has he not mentioned Vidal at all, surely a CM is a priority?

Well, you can be pretty sure Van Gaal won't pander to him as much as Moyes was doing.

Sir Alex not doing that last time made him all unhappy.

I think we will get Di Maria, its probably the most likely of the three names being branded about at the moment. The next most likely is Vidal I believe we will also get him but its heavily dependent on other transfers going through IE: Kroos to Madrid, Morotta to another club (Hopefully Bayern), Yaya to PSG, Fernando to City. As long as those clubs steer clear of Vidal or Pogba were ok which is highly unlikely as all those clubs will be in for the worlds best Midfielder.

Lastly I think the real transfer saga of this window will be Hummels, I think we will see alot of fighting over him leading up to the close of the window and IF it happens it will be a 35-40m fee (based off Shaw) and I think were looking at a deadline day with Hummels potentially being forced into a transfer request.

Why ?

Di Maria is being forced out by Madrid so i think his more realistic.

Why are they forcing him out? It definitely looks like they are but as such an important player for them in a successful campaign, I don't really understand it. They kept him over Ozil after all (completely understandable of course).
