Yeah, I'd rather have one and not the other than neither. Getting Di Maria would take the sting out of the (probably to be honest) news that Vidal isn't coming.

But imagine if we got both?!!

The collective wankathlon on the cafe would cause an earthquake(wankquake?). Redcafe will explode and we would all die from shock, without seeing them play even once.

Would the kit sponsorship deal being up in the air have halted some bigger signings (if Vidal and Di Maria are to be believed targets). As in that needs to be signed so we know how we cover that outgoing?

Let's take it easy with this Di Maria stuff. Nothing to suggest that there's anything more to it than the other 20 players we've been linked to. Should go without saying but some people seem to immediately dive in head first.

Personally, I think he'll end up at PSG if he does leave Madrid.

Not sure if it will - its a bit down today, but that's probably down to the markets tanking this morning. The only time United's stock soared this year is when Moyes was sacked.
Well the projected increase in earnings from this deal will be likely 30 million pounds per year,It also will give the books an even better look. The debt would look even more manageable, I dont see how it should not rise. But stock market is like the wife, you never sure how she is going to behave.

You wouldn't have thought so. If Woody has the big 3-4 usual suspects fighitng over a deal, he's surely going to know roughyl what he has to spend.

I was thinking that these enormous numbers could work against us. If teams we're trying to buy from know we have this enormous deal coming in, they may think they're in an even stronger negotiating position to bleed us dry. This on top of Woody going on about how much we're going to spend and the fact we obviously need quite a few reinforcements, I'm surprised we've not had to pay even more for Shaw and Herrera.

If we got Di Maria, I'd happily buy somebody like Carvalho / De Jong.

I'd love Vidal, and have liked him since I bought him on FM from Leverkusen, but to be honest, the balance of the team would probably be better with a defensive midfielder happy to just sit back, and it would give more freedom to Mata.

But, Id rather have Vidal and Di Maria

IF IF IF we were to sign Di Maria for me it throw up an interesting thought of just what formation Van Gaal is looking at? I think a lot of people would agree our true wingers have been pretty damn poor, but then our other options that havent quite fitted in being out wider seem to be played on the left in Mata, Kagawa and even Rooney. People are saying Di Maria will be a good winger for us, yet he has been playing as an advanced midfielder for his club. SO what formation would LVG be looking at...and where would he be playing him and at whos expense?
You comment about being hapyp with Carvalho/De JOng if we signed Di Maria is an interesting one as you cant rule out a midield of the likes of Carvalho behind Herrera and Di Maria.
Personally Id rather Sanchez than Di Maria, Id rather Vidal than Maria...but Di Maria would give us more options that the other two formation and flexibility wise.....my brains exploding thinking what LVG may have in mind if there is truth in Di Maria interest regarding the best formations and fitting the players in

DM? Are we totally righting off Carick/fletcher? I mean Carick is not a great tackler and we know about Fletchers' health problems, but surely they can be of some use OR Am I missing something?

That's us, spoilt bastard fans. Club spends £60m and we're like, what of it, where's my superstar at.

Compared to the money we bring in - £60m is wee buns Sandi.

Most fans have been frustrated by a lack of quality spending in the areas we most require. We have 2 areas partly sorted (Evra looks like he's sadly leaving - so we need back-up at LB, & Herrera & Carrick are our only quality CM's) that we desperately needed upgrading, but there's much more work to be done in CM & CB positions, not to mention the lack of quality we have on the wings - bar young Adnan.

Lingard needs to be given a chance, aswell as Lawrence. Young Wilson looks like a great prospect also, so i'd sell Hernandez & have Wilson take his place.

Shaw & Herrera are great signings, but we cant stop there if we want to be challenging this season. This is a great opportunity to get top-class players in, its a very unique summer where there seems to be more players available than ever before. We cant miss out on top-players for key areas & take a punt that LvG will make last seasons squad contenders. Its dreamland to think that shit is possible with just two new additions. There needs to be a clear-out of wasters at the club & start afresh with hungry players - new players in & promoting the best of the youth.

Get the 1st team sorted with top-players first though & then we can bleed the young lads throughout the season!

I can't believe how bad ESPN is in other countrys compared to the US. I mean that's a made up number from a tweet from AS, not citing any own sources. Wouldn't read too much into it, as Di Marzio yesterday said that PSG will blow us out of the water.

This! A thousand times, this!

You would of thought that Di Maria is more of the type to want CL then Sanchez.

Not going to get into this rumour until a credible source has broadcast it, I'm getting too involved in the Vidal rumour as it is

Rumours from unreliable journos in spain that we offered 55 million euros.

Ever been to Paris?

Who wouldnt want to live there & be paid a kings ransom for your services also?!

I lived in France for five years and Paris is probably the worst part of it.

One of FFP's sanction on PSG this year restricts their wage budget and they would have to sell a "kings ransom worth of wages" before they could pay him.

Just think it's more likely that PSG will pay the huge fee being touted and think our main focus is elsewhere in terms of positions. They will also give him massive wages, have CL football and already have Lavezzi, Pastore and a few other South Americans.
Can they afford £50m what with them being scrutinised by FFP? Or is it true they don't give a feck

About Di Maria does he have a UE passport ? Because if he doesn't he can't play for PSG, they have too much foreigners.

My understanding is that hey have been restricted to 60m euros (£47.7m) this summer by FFP and can only spend that on one player. It is not surprising we are seeing this £47.7m figure being banded about in todays tweets. It is more likely we have matched their bid and it will be down to the player, as it always is.

And they've paid over the odds for Luiz so if they keep spending and keep breaking the FFP rules they won't have CL football unless they sell big, Cavani for example, plus the french league is the poorest of the major European leagues. Depends how ambitious the player is

55m euros = approx £44m

A fair price I would say
In the current market, yeah. £44m isnt much of anything when you are buying quality. Its a market where mediocre players can fetch in £18 million and David Luiz and go for £50 million.

If Ozil went for £42.5m, then anything up to £45-50m is fine with me for Di Maria.
