If we do go for Di Maria I suspect it'll mean Vidal stays where he is or goes to Bayern.

I hope not. Midfield is still the priority over wingers and centre-backs. Herrera is definitely not enough.

Unless De Jong is the cheap option to be considered. I don't rate him at all though.

Ohhhh, now that's interesting. AS is reliable aren't they?

But both have to be paid for. We've already spent £55m or there abouts. Di Maria will likely cost £30m-£40m. I know we've some cash to spend but add another £45m on top for Vidal and it gets a bit unrealistic. My guess would be if, if it is Di Maria, a cheaper non-Vidal CM option will be explored.

Sanchez may well have turned us down but it would make more sense if we felt confident about getting Di Maria. I'd prefer Sanchez anyway but Van Gaal might not think the same.

Di Maria has done extremely well on the left side of midfield in a 4-3-3 for Madrid so he isn't just an out an out winger.

Would be magnificent but probably too good to be true.

So Jorge Mendes could move Di Maria to us and James Rodriguez to Madrid. He really is one of the most powerful men in European football.

This is what I think too. Juve seem pretty adamant on not selling Vidal. Get Di Maria and then look for a De Jong type player to fill that 2nd CM spot.

He owes us a favour after Bebe.

And is Diego Cora legit? Follows a lot of people and has only 5000 followers.

Don't forget we'd be selling quite a few players. Hernandez should pick up around £20m and Fellaini £10m.
Aye, but I think we might go for cheaper alternatives though. Skimp down on a utility fullback (Blind, maybe?) a cheap defensive midfielder, a CB (looks like Vermaelen) and then di Maria. Get rid of the deadwood and it could be a very good summer.

I think fees being reported is too inflated, its just negotiating tactics so PSG up their offer and they can buy jamez rodriguez. No club in their right mind would buy di maria for 50 million pounds. At max he is a 40 million pound player.

Scholesy the caf legend (MODRIC!) just popped on my timeline, he has this to say..

I agree.

But maybe, just maybe all the rumours of a £200m summer spend is going to happen. Maybe the club knew that we would lose Giggs, Rio, Vidic, Evra plus I'm expecting more. Seeing it as a perfect time to properly rebuild the squad. Tv money is up, new shirt sponsor etc. I dunno, I'm probably dreaming, but I can't see us spunking €60 on Di Maria and not strengthening properly in CM and defence.

Maybe you should have made your arse available for them to pull those numbers out from.

So it looks likely that di Maria will be our marquee signing, would've preferred Vidal but I can't complain.

I'd rather we not spend it all this summer myself. We've 'only' got to fight on the domestic font this year. If next summer we're buying again for an assault on Europe having an extra £60m or so from this year in case a special player crops up, would be welcome.

To be honest I want a better source on the Di Maria deal than 'lockerdome.com'

50 million pounds= 60 million euros

If ozil went for 42 million, sanchez goes for 30. I think di maria is worth 40 and there is nothing wrong in that.
Why dont you go suck a lemon? Dont bother replying.

If we do spend £45m on Di Maria. That is £105m we spent, then add Vermaelen for £10m and Vidal for £45m.

That is £160m. Then let's say we get rid of Hernandez, Fellaini, Nani and Young. Those four should get us £40m minimum.

Di Maria twice the price of Sanchez???

I can't believe how bad ESPN is in other countrys compared to the US. I mean that's a made up number from a tweet from AS, not citing any own sources. Wouldn't read too much into it, as Di Marzio yesterday said that PSG will blow us out of the water.
