Convincing the likes of Van Persie and Mata to come to the club isn't easy. It will have taken a lot of hard work and persuasion, and considering the cumulative cost was around £60 million for the pair of them, we paid some big beans and done so successfully.

Last summer was horrendous, we all know that. But why people still continue to pretend as if we're some oaf ambling through the transfer market is beyond me. Maybe, just maybe, we might have this thing cracked. Like I said, Mata, Shaw and Herrera in the space of six months is fantastic business and I'm confident there'll be more along the way.

No doubt we seem to be heading in a different direction when it comes to transfers. I think maybe Gill & Fergie thought players would run to OT because of the prestige etc., but money talks with top players & we've been left empty-handed far too many times.

I'm alot more confident in top players coming here than i ever was & thats fantastic. No more cheap alternatives is what we all want to see now. We need players in that are ready to go & bleed the young lads also - there's plenty of talent there..

The only reason why we didn't get many top players in the last years is because Fergie and Gill refused to pay what was required.

If you think that players didn't want to play for probably the club with the biggest fanbase in the world, the most successful club in the most watched league in the world and under the arguably best manager in history, you are having a laugh.

I think this is the impact FFP is having. A few years ago even with an asking price of £19m Chelsea would have thought nothing of bidding £27m for Filipe Luis just to save the hassel

If that was the case, Shaw would be playing for Chelsea. Reality is, Chelsea have become one of the most frugal clubs for FFP now.

Spending £60m this summer and buying Mata was pretty much a necessity after how badly we did last year so that answers that.

RVP was like a last hurrah for SAF because he knew City were going to bid for and therefore probably get him and we'd fall further behind them.

Before that look how we've spent. Valencia and a bunch of failures.

I'd say it's more than realistic to think we'll end up with De Jong and Vermaelen and be disappointed/pessimistic than it is to get your hopes up of signing someone amazing and then being disappointed.

Our signings in that period were not all failures, De Gea, Hernandez, Smalling etc. have been good buys.

In fact between signing Valencia in 2009 and RVP in 2012 the only signings you could say were definitely failures would be Obertan & Young.

We can let Evra go on a free to Juve as a goodwill gesture for letting us have Vidal without too much fuss :)

City fans to chant "We all love Willy" (to the tune of we all hate Leeds scum)

Bebe. Zaha is also looking like he may not have the right mentality for this level of football.
