If there is genuine interest why else would it take so long to put in a bid?

This is not Football Manager 2014. First we'll have to establish with the player whether he wants the move or not, or else we'll look fecking stupid if Juve accepts the bid and the player rejects it. All the personal terms are agreed with the player before bidding. These things take time.

Why the hell do you think the Costa to Chelsea took so much time inspite of looking obvious for the past six months?

All stuff like image rights, signing on fee, insurance, agent fees and other contractual things take time with the player and then there's the fee issue with the club.

Because transfers don't work in the simplistic way that you're implying.

Van Gaal: "Ooh, I like that Vidal fella."

Woody: "AYEEE, fourty million bid on the way now, Louis lad. Just give me a sec to fax this off."

Piece of piss.

For all you guys know, we might have put in a bid already. Clubs do not have to communicate bids to the world you know...

We've signed RVP and Mata in the last 2 seasons. Two of the best players of our two rivals.

Great signings of course, but both were English based players & were settled on England. We had that on our side.

RVP had a year left & Arsenal wanted to re-coup some dosh on him & he only wanted to come to United - they'd no option but to sell him to us.

Mourinho was pretty sound in lettin Mata go to us, but he also didnt see us as a threat to them last season. We showed the most interest & Mata wanted to come here more importantly.

We dont fair well when it comes down to a battle with Real, PSG or Barca for a player. We havent faired well with Chelsea or City for quite a few players either.

Top foreign players have a hard-on for continental clubs & you cant blame them for wanting that kind of lifestyle. Its a massive draw..

Contrary to popular belief, even if you accept that - not all players want to go to, or will be wanted by Real Madrid, Barca or PSG.

In any event, while we may not have competed with those clubs in the recent past, but to be fair we really didn't compete for many top quality players because for years we didnt really need to. Times have changed. United seem to have more ambition and can offer a lot to a player - massive wages, a club in one of the best leagues in the world and a chance towork under a top manager. Plenty of quality players will be interested in that.

It may be that the club has to use money as a major incentive. As it stands other clubs would evidently want a player like Vidal (for example). How many would be prepared to pay him what United would pay is questionable given the players they will already have on their books. Players might love to play for Barca - but they also love making double the money over a 5 year contract and securing their, and their families financial future.

No doubt about that mate. City being the classic example gettin Toure & Aguero etc..

Listen to you. Some transfers are easier to get sorted than others & to suggest they're not is beyond belief..

Convincing the likes of Van Persie and Mata to come to the club isn't easy. It will have taken a lot of hard work and persuasion, and considering the cumulative cost was around £60 million for the pair of them, we paid some big beans and done so successfully.

Last summer was horrendous, we all know that. But why people still continue to pretend as if we're some oaf ambling through the transfer market is beyond me. Maybe, just maybe, we might have this thing cracked. Like I said, Mata, Shaw and Herrera in the space of six months is fantastic business and I'm confident there'll be more along the way.

Pogba won't leave this year I think. They see him as an investment, to cash in when the time is right. I think in a couple of years, he will go for a ridiculous price.

If there is a choice to sell between Vidal or Pogaba, I think Juve might sell vidal as this is the only time they will get a big price for a 27 year old player.

I think there were some reports that Pogba was the one who convinced Evra to join Juve, his agent also cleared that he will not be going anywhere this year, so I don't see this one happening this year.

I think this is the impact FFP is having. A few years ago even with an asking price of £19m Chelsea would have thought nothing of bidding £27m for Filipe Luis just to save the hassel

If true, this is turning into a brilliant summer for us. Liverpool and City lose their best players from last season, we sack Moyes and bring in LvG and actually sign a midfielder (plus others)

Summer 2014 is the anti-Summer 2013
