I'm relaxed. I wouldn't be too bothered if we didn't make a bit name signing as I think van gaal is good enough to get us into the top 4 anyway.

Talk about a reality check, when making top 4 is the main aim.

Good to see liverpool finishing 2nd has done nothing.

People understand why they came 2nd last year.
And selling their main stand out player, coupled with a rammed schedule does not scream "will do better".

Liverpool arent see as a really big club outside of England. They have been in the shadows for the last 24 years bar one exceptional night in the CL. It will take more than finishing second once in a blue moon for them to re-establish themselves.

History and trophy counts are important but when 99% of it is more than a quarter of a century ago it doesn't carry much weight.

Where is the blue tick by Twitter to verify that it is officially him then? All footballers have this on their account, Jackson Martinez would be no exception

Other forums seem to think it's his, but I'll take your word for it. All footballers don't have the blue tick fwiw.

The Portuball guy on Twitter says its not his account.

Good news. Don't mind Arsenal signing hime, at least Wenger is a decent man not like Brenden - if Liverpool sign hime Brenden will probably compare hime to some superhero "the saviour" plus those cringe worthy RAWK poetry.

Hmm, I would still like one more decent CB, with emphasis on decent. We cannot have Rio and Vidic leave without a talent vacuum at the back.
Yeah that's what I meant, as well as a centre back and another midfielder. I don't think they'll be huge signings though .

It's depressing but thank Moyes and the lack of spending for that. We are still too far behind city and Chelsea to challenge in my opinion.

No we're not. City maybe. But compare our squad and Chelsea's player by player and we're almost level. There's been some hyperbolic exaggeration of the weaknesses in our squad fuelled by Moyes' undending warcry that the team and our club itself was in need of a "fundamental rebuild". Under a competent manager and with Suarez' departure we have the 2nd or 3rd (by a very fine margin) strongest team in the whole league.

De Gea = Cech
Rafael < Azpilicueta (just)
Evans = current Terry
Jones < Cahill
Carrick < Matic based purely on last year's form. Carrick is the better player overall.
Shaw/ Evra > Bertrand
Herrera > Ramires/ Mikel
Kagawa < Fabregas
Mata > Oscar
Rooney = Hazard
Van Persie > Costa/ Torres

SAF you cocktease.

Rene or Phelan, surely? But don't we already have more coaches than titles to give them?

I'd love Carlos Queirez back, very unlikely though.Could it be someone for a director of football type role?We know Van Gaal is used to working with one.Queirez would be great for that role.

Pogba... Vidal is a smokescreen or I smoke too much stuff from the unofficial staff.

Seriously, can anyone tell what the frak is going on here ?

Hadn't considered this, but i'm hoping it will be someone returning to their previous capacity at the club. If he wants a DOF i'd rather he just picked one he knows.

As much as I find this a horrible way to compare and contrast individuals I will indulge. Even discounting Felipe as a player yet to be signed are you really going off the assumption that Bertrand will start instead of Ivanovic? They loaned him out to Villa last season and Azpilicueta played at left back with Ivanovic at right back. You are essentially picking and choosing who you want to come out on top in that comparison list.
