I know every transfer window these days seems to be full of Journalists and random ITK twitter users just recycling 2nd hand rumours and sometimes just outright making stuff up.

This one seems to be the absolute worst ever though, everyone contradicting each other, wildly fluctuating transfer prices and then when deals are actually being done they don't know until it's virtually completed like with Herrera.

We've been linked with every footballer on the planet in the last month.

Yeah, there have been reports to that regard too but Barca had Neymar wrapped up pretty early anyway in a dodgy deal.(So even a late Real Madrid hijack attempt didn't matter either.)

Even if those reports were true and he wanted Neymar first, i don't think he was unhappy with Gotze at all.
While he wouldn't have been unhappy but given how Gotze has been used in quite a few different positions It wouldn't surprise me he wasn't one of his targets.

Juventus must be the most broke 'big' club that there is. They always seem to be pulling out of deals because they can't afford the fee or players wages.

I agree fully with this. I think there's going to be issues with him or Messi.

I guess Suarez must be aware of how he's going to be used but it'll be interesting to see if he's happy fitting into someone else's system rather than his own.

They've done some good business in recent years though it has to be said. Vidal, Pogba, Tevez, Llorente, Bazargli, Asamoah, Pirlo and a few more were absolute bargains.

But it is getting harder for them to improve the squad because they can't afford the top end players.

Yeah, they've done excellently in the transfer market. Because of their financial restraints it makes it difficult to see them challenging for the CL on a regular basis.

This sounds to me as if a Midfielder of that quality and a winger have been signed already or the deal is very far down the line.

Or they're taking their FFP restrictions seriously and can't afford any of them without selling first.

Not at all, wed have to spend 300m+ to be in breach of FFP

Apologies. I thought the original tweet said MUFC....

Yeah, they wont be spending big at all, hence my prediction of them struggling for 3rd.

Why/how are Juve so skint then?
They used to be big players but the inflation of sugar daddy clubs and the fall from grace the italian league took must have something to do with it. They are obviously a huge club but in terms of fans and recognition, commercially they probably line up with a club like Chelsea but without the sugar daddy owner they have to balance books themselves. They cant for instance just spunk 30m on a young midfielder from spain or a young left back with promise. They first must sell, whats great about these clubs though is legends tend to go there and thrive off the slower pace of the game and raise their awareness tactically meaning in CL matches they only really come unstack against world beaters.

More likely to be because they don't have any more money to spend. They are allowed to spend £49m this year under FFP, already signed Fernando for £15m and are looking to sign Benatia or Mangala both of which will cost £30 odd million. Doesn't leave much change for the likes of Pogba or Sanchez.

Ah that makes sense and I agree.
I think they'd be in for Pogba & Sanchez, if it wasn't for FFP so I don't think they'll retain their title and it'll be between them, us, Arsenal & (begrudgingly) Liverpool for 2-4.
Chelsea favourites.

I don't know what their attendances are like but whenever I put on a Serie A match involving Juventus and other teams for that matter, the stadiums always appear to be half empty. Not sure how significant that is but maybe that's another factor?

They also got relegated for match fixing and corruption too didn't they? Or something along those lines.

Well, he is one of the fifteen referees who are asked to stay. Apparently the final will be officiated by a Mexican ref. I would bet that for the semi it'll be between Webb and Proenca (likely Webb), the final between Proenca and Kuipers (likely Proenca especially with Holland being a possibility of going in the final) while the game for the third place to be officiated by a non-European referee like Irmatov or Nishimura (or that Argie referee if Argentina reaches the final).

Yes, they were relegated for match fixing that went on through the golden era of Italian football, such a shame it wasnt genuine, they were really up there with Madrid. I have to say seeing them bounce back and become a huge player again is great to see and kind of implants the notion of class being permanent and form temporary despite them being the proverbial bad guys.
