As I've said, anyone who is working/has worked for the MEN has no fecking clue what is going on. The same applies to that trampy looking fecker who now works for the BBC.

Seriously, who would put their profile photo as that? Looks like he's had a good night out on ket.

Upwards of 90% of tweets are BS. If only Ogden, Mitten, and Ducker could post 50 transfer tweets daily.

Find that hard to believe. He's hardly going to win it at Arsenal. They'd get to the usual last 16.

So that's 8 (well, 10 if you include the qualifying round) games of European football versus 0. If he wants European football then that's what he's gonna get at Arsenal.

Hope so too..

Cant see United only bringin in 4 players - with one of those 4 not even able to make Arsenals 1st 11 too. I guess we'll just have to wait, see & hope we get the quality / required quantity in..

I think a quality CB and a pacey winger are musts, we are lacking in both right now. Another CM of course goes without saying, after years of neglect it was always going to be the priority area of the team this window.

Van Gaal is in a shock when he see's how bad our wide players are in pre season. Our interest in Vermaelen makes no sense even when fit his above average at best surely we could find someone better. That CM better be Vidal or that's an underwhelming end to our business.

Dig what you're sayin man, but it would take a dramatic turn of events for us to just get 4 players in, one of which isnt United quality - he isnt even Arsenal quality.

From all the reports (startin as way back as the end of the season), United drew up a list of players they felt we needed & Van Gaal had his own & they came to a compromise.

Herrera & Shaw are long-term United targets, but i doubt their desires end there. They know what we need to get us back in the game & they cant take a chance of another failed season out of the CL. They know the quality we have & the duff we have aswell, so i cant see the spending finish with just another CM (which is wicked of course) & a back-up CB.

To me, that would show absolutely no ambition. We got our money's worth from Vida & Rio & that was the cornerstone to much of our success (Evra included), so with both gone - they need to spend on serious quality to replace them. Smalling & Jones aint the answer & Evans is injured for atleast half a season most seasons.

Cant see Van Gaal havin the last word on all transfers in this window - its too important to the club that we invest for the now & for the future - not to mention the unique availability of so many players right now. This is the time to strike & set us up with a chance to compete for the title this season.

Being linked with some shite players such as Vermaelan & half the mediocre Dutch squad, is very disturbing to say the least. Can you imagine how hard its gonna be to attract players next summer if we somehow fail to get CL football 2 seasons in a row?

It wont happen under Van Gaal in my opinion, but we cant gamble on what if's either.. and should be upgradin as much of the squad as possible to give us a crackin chance to win back the title!

We might play without traditional wingers, with wing-backs to provide width.

As suggested above, the likes of Mata, Rooney, Welbeck, Kagawa, Valencia and Januzaj can and will play in wider roles. That isn't even including the likes of Nani and Zaha, players that could always reform in the eyes of the new man.

That's a lot of talent right there. I agree that somebody like Sanchez would be fantastic, but in Adnan we're looking at Balon D'or kind of talent, and I won't forgive the club if it throws yet another incredible talent to the scrap heap in favour of damned rotation and experience.

If we sort this midfield out once and for all, improve tactically and play like a unit, the goals will always come, new winger or not. This squad is full of goals, something Ferguson always ensured, irrespective of his later flaws with youth and team selection.

I think we'd be better off leaving the winger or striker till the winter or next summer personally.
Were already ripping up and gutting our previous defence and midfield (thank god), changing formation, new tactics, new manager etc etc.

Anyway we have a rediculous number of attacking players to fit into 4 possible places.
RvP, Rooney, Mata, Januzaj is a good enough front 4 if van gaal can get a formation to suit them. The rest are great cover at least.
Maybe one of them 4 could just dont click with the midfielders were bringing in, one we might not expect at this point. Say mata in midfield is a disaster for us for some random reason but januzaj and lawrence or something have a brilliant season removing the need for a winger.
It gives januzaj room to grow in a season were theres not going to be a massive ammount of games.
And if we get our midfield and defence sorted then a reliable if not particularly exciting player like valencia will get the job done regardless (this season).

If RM want to give us di maria for a good price - great!
I just wouldn't be going out of my way to get one in right now. I'd be more worried about the foundations of the team at this point.

I don't understand this argument. Mata, Rooney, Kagawa and Welbeck are all awful out wide they are not wingers so they'll always want to come centrally but if they stay wide they won't be able to fully utilize their talents. Nani is all but leaving United, Zaha is awful and couldn't even get a game for Cardiff.

I disagree it's a lot of players out of position. Januzaj is good but his still to young to be relied on to provide any threat from wide areas.

Our problems with our wide players is they are incapable of providing opportunities.

Good points Kag

CM & CB are the key areas that need sortin asap, but Nani, Young are muck & add nothing to the team or the squad. Times up with those 2 in my opinion.

Apart from Carrick & Herrera - that's our only quality CM options, so i'd love us to get 2 CM's in, so we'd have 4 in total in case we have injuries & loss of form (like Carrick last season)..

We never know whats goin on behind the scenes, but we all just hope that anyone that does come in - is better than what we have already..

Well that's great. Van Gaal disagrees. Welbeck, Mata, Kagawa and Rooney will continue to play matches out wide. I'd rather Mata in particular played at #10, but the rest could play there fairly easily.

Wide forwards are not wingers, they position themselves to score. Januzaj coming in off the right, and yes, he's good enough to be relied upon - age is simply a late Ferguson excuse to stall - and Welbeck, Rooney or Kagawa on the left could all perform well and score goals provided the football was progressive and compact.

A team with Mata at #10 is scoring goals, that's a certainty. Herrera has something about him, Van Persie central is an incredible target man. Rafael and Shaw will bomb down that touchline day and night. The signing of a Sanchez or Di Maria isn't the be and end all. Van Gaal will hopefully play to the strengths of the players we have, and central football through the likes of Herrera, Mata and Van Persie, with supporting runs from players like Welbeck, Rooney and Januzaj is certainly workable. Perfect? No, but we'll score goals next season. Kick back and enjoy them.

Personally I don't think we've seen much to give reason to trust Welbeck and Kagawa as far as scoring goals is concerned, not from wide areas. I think Januzaj is a very exciting talent but with youth almost always comes inconsistency. When you add to that Young, Nani and Valencia offering next to nothing even before the Moyes debacle and I'd say the shout for a new wide attacker is a fair one.

Okay did you speak to Van Gaal about it? Welbeck provides zero productivity from wide areas, Rooney is awful out wide (personally I'd prefer he was sold) and Kagawa can only play on the left when the team is playing a certain brand of football other than that his always getting lost out wide and doesn't provide much.

Pace is very important in the modern game, and what you've mentioned lacks that in an abundance. While Van Gaal does play to his players strengths he likes to have at least one pacey wide player to run at defenders so I guarantee he won't line up with no.10's along the attacking three he'd want at least one player to provide some pace.

It's what I'm quite confident will happen. Welbeck and Januzaj have pace. Rafael and Shaw have pace. We're actively ensuring that our midfield has pace. Welbeck does well for England as a wide forward. I think Rooney could too, with a little work. You're already completely writing off the possibility that Nani or Zaha couldn't improve.

Look, I'm with you to a degree, I'd like a flash new toy out wide. Ideally, we'd get somebody like Reus to play as a left sided forward. However, if we have to wait a year then so be it. I don't think signing somebody like Sanchez or Di Maria will heavily destabilise the season. It's easy to see why Van Gaal may not consider signing one of them a priority. As reported, one experienced centre half and another midfielder most certainly is.

Thats pretty depressing.

As much as its been a good start to the window, if we don't follow it up with a few more big signings, then it'll just be another let down.

Luke Shaw, Thomas Vermaelen, Ander Herrera and another quality midfielder...and you would not be satisfied ? The best young defender in the country and 2 central midfielders of the highest quality...quite

Januzaj isn't exactly quick he has a good acceleration. Welbeck while he is quick lacks in a brain his not capable of creating from a wide area and one of our biggest issues is creating chances.

I'm writing of Zaha because he was never good enough in the first place, a poor back up option after losing out on on both Hazard and Moura. Nani who I've defended several times and would prefer him to stay is quite clearly leaving.

Honestly now is the time to sign a wide player. I highly doubt next summer any will be available because they'll be at other big clubs, Reus will leave Dortmund but the chances of him joining us are slim our only hope is Van Gaal because he can speak German and could convince him.

Reus has said he'll only leave Dortmund (his home-town club) to join Barca. Unfortunately, if it comes down to a choice of us or Barca / Real - we always seem to lose out big style & end up with someone like Bebe or Zaha because no-one else with equal ambitions, wants them!

If we can get Di Maria - get the lad - its a no-brainer. If we can get Vidal & Carvalho - same. If we can get top-class CB's - same again..

We'll have brought in approximately £420m in revenue by this years end, thats not to mention the last 5 seasons of record revenue brought in. Its about time the club spent a whack of that money on the most important element of the club - top players to win the biggest prizes.

3 Champions Leagues is not enough for a club of our size & its almost gettin to the point of it being cringey when i hear folk say we're the biggest club in the world right now. Biggest club in the world attracts the best players in the world & we dont attract the best players in the world (bar RVP - cos he was already settled in England).

If we put our money were our mouth is - we can bribe them to come here, which i've no problem with that shit anymore. Everyone's friggin doin it & its working very nicely for them too, regardless of the FFP ticking off some of those new-money clubs have gotten recently..

My sources on the Caf say this lad is a gobshite.

Its yesterdays news for starters & does he even watch football - when he's not wankin himself off to Judge Judy repeats?!
A brilliant and fulfilling past time if you ask me.

See LVG will have plenty of time in the summer tour to see how much shit our wingers are,so nothing to be concerned of.LVG is no Moyes, he is as ruthless as it gets.

I tend to agree & thats the hope anyway.

The best one's might have moved on, or decided to stay at their respected clubs, by the time his assessment of the squad is in full-flow. Many of the players will be on hols for the next number of weeks too. I'm sure he's seen enough of Nani to want to throttle him though..

Zaha is an exceptional talent albeit raw.

I honestly don't see anything special in him, even at Palace I can see him reaching the level of Ashley Young when he was at Villa. At the end of the day had we signed one of Moura or Hazard we would have never of signed him, that was our awful transfer policy scrapping the bottom of the barrel rather than getting the best young talents.

We only missed out on Hazard because we wouldnt pay his agent £5m - Fergie confirmed what all the papers were reporting at that time too..

Muppets!

Would hate to see you if we got relegated! For all your doom and gloom what the club should have done we have just been through or most successful period ever. We also were the most successful side in Europe for a period plus domestically we ripped it up.
If your looking for the type of club your describing it is not United and hopefully never will be.

Juventus are nuts if they are actually wanting to sell Vidal? Why in the hell would they want to sell Vidal and the figures quoted for him as are even more shocking.

But what the hell, I hope Juventus are actually nuts and sell us Vidal for 35 mil Pounds.

And what an awful decision that's turned out to be, overall the deal was 38M and that's a bargain these days.

Doesnt seem to have a great attitude though - same as that lazy prick Nani & that useless dick "Youngie"

Zaha should be given time to see what pans out as he could become a brilliant player but of course attitude needs to be correct. Although the same was aimed at Pogbas attitude by many.

We've had that transfer policy for years and it's put us in pretty good stead. Hazard/Moura wouldn't have got in the way of us adding the likes of Zaha to our squad much in the same way buying Smalling didn't stop us buying Jones or having van Persie/Rooney/Welbeck/Hernandez didn't stop us buying Henriquez. You'd probably think differently if we obtained Bale or Ramsey but you win some, you lose some. Hindsight is great though and Zaha still has time on his side despite a bad start.
