Could have gone for almost double if it was Madrid after him.

That's hilarious. I'm sure we'll hear about a "real fee" of £100m from the Liverpool ITK crowd.

Hummels has been immense for Germany today. I say give Dortmund what they want and Juve what they want for Vidal and try and persuade them to join. If they don't want to then there's not much more we can do. I would also do the same with Sanchez but it seems he doesn't want to come to United.

They should have known. Barca are never transfer record breakers and they are very sneaky when it comes to money. I am sure they will squeeze every ounce out of the Chelleini bite and get the transfer money reduced. The way I look at it, they hold all the cards for now -

1. Suarez has his mind set never to return to England
2. Liverpool cannot afford talks to stretch this season or else they wouldn't have enough time to replace him
3. The bite incident has ensured that Liverpool can't force him to stay as it will bring unnecessary pressure on the whole club from all sections

I will be very surprised if Barca pay anything more than 55-60m for him and that too in installments.

I wonder who Liverpool could sign as a replacement for Suarez?

Just give Madrid what they want for Di Maria and everything is rosy.I like the idea of us financing clubs in the CL to make absolutely sure Liverpool get the stuffing knocked out of them in Europe. One of Dortmund,Real or Juventus will surely knock Liverpool out, with our assistance.

Barca could drive the price down a bit by stretching things out, since as you say, LFC can't afford to wait in order to avoid running out of time. That said, it looks like it will be finalized soon.

Cavani could a possibility - he'd be guaranteed to play up top & Pool have CL football, nevermind they'd have a decent whack to pay on wages.. Hope the feck not of course!

Can't see it. He's living in a better city on better wages and he's got a great chance of winning the league every year.

Add to that the fact that Liverpool are selling their best player and they don't look half as good an option.

He's being played out of position in a shit league. I don't think he gives a rat's ass about winning the French league so a move to Liverpool to play as a striker should be a no brainer for him really.

£60m max for Suarez would be a good outcome. A fair chunk down on what they'd have expected pre bite, and as Tottenham found, replacing one huge star player is not easy at all.

Just Barca voices coming out on this. A bit like the London press were coming out in Arsenals favour last summer. Seems like they're trying to hide some more ffp.
