No, he just tells his English-speaking followers what the Spanish press are writing, in this case Mundo Deportivo (md).

Ah right! I found the article, just seem to be blowing smoke up City by saying they could spend more on the player, or something along them lines.

Probably forgetting about the fact they have FFP to worry about.

They are also saying things about Daily Mail and Talk Sport.

So even though it was reported by Mundo, they're article is pretty crap by the look of it.

That would be an ideal outcome. We get Vidal, and neither Liverpool nor Arsenal get Sanchez.
And then we get Di Maria from Madrid. Arsenal then signs Tiombe from second division on France, and Liverpool splash the cash on Lee Catermole.

I wonder if we're actually going for Vidal, seems to be a lot of smoke.

Twitter gives people a false impression of whats going on. The reality is they need to keep tweeting so just keep rehasing stuff left and right so they've got something to say. If we are in negotiations then it'll take time.

Some seem to think because stuff is all over twitter that deals are done in a day or two.

My guess is it all depends on what happens with Bayern/Madrid transfers. Kross to Madrid, who will Bayern replace hime with,Vidal?' or if not Kroos, will Madrid go for Vidal - surely, if there is any interest from Bayern/Madrid, Vidal's agent will be aware of it, maybe his agent is not encouraging us to make a bid, waiting on to see what happens with Bayern/Madrid first.

Edit: sorry wrong thread.

I know that, but it'd be taking the biscuit if they go and sign €100m+ on players the summer they were supposed to have the ban. I just worded it wrong, sorry about that!

Ah no worries mate

The same can be said about PSG too, when they were allegedly after Pogba for €70m or something, straight after their tickin off. Atleast Platini came out & said they were takin the piss out of UEFA & FFP rules. I was surprised at that to be honest man..

I don't see him as a fit for Bayern as they are now, but they do like buying midfielders.

People seem to have forgotten that City haven't started flexing their financial muscle this summer yet.

They have to keep their noses clean for the next while though. What that actually means is another thing. Probably not allowed to spunk £200m this window or some shit like that..

City will find a way around it somehow is my guess:

"Oh look - i just found £200m down the back of this sofa. Quick get the boss on the phone & get spending ffs.."

"Boss - there's some foreign lad on the blower lookin to buy 3 signed footballs for £200m.."

In what world is Balotelli "world class"? He's not even in the top 10 strikers in the world?
That term has become so ridiculous that now every half decent player is being called world class.

If we somehow manage to get Vidal, will this end our possible Strootman pursuit?

I could see us going in for Strootman in January if we go in for Vidal and aren't able to sign him.

Would kill to have both, but I'm not sure how Strootman would work with Vidal in our team too unless we look to offload Carrick sometime in the future.

haha im still so sceptical about Woody even though he has made the Shaw and Herrera signings. He's gotta go all in on Vidal.
My money is still on signing Pogba - can Woodward make it happen? I guess we have more chance of signing Pogba (considering we are not in champions league) then Vidal. Vidal is 27(?) I think he would like to be competing for champions league, Pogba is still young and has time on his side. Also Pogba is a good long term investment.

I'd like to hear Andy Mittens take on the signings after all its sorted to be honest & whether Ed deserves the kudos etc.

I'm hopin Ed went full muppet, but i have my doubts - due the Glazers stating they were takin a more hands-on approach during this window, so there's no f*ck-ups this time round etc. I've a funny feeling that we're using "super-agents" and the like, to sort out the more complicated negotiations in Europe.. United have done that numerous times & it makes sense not to slow down the process of gettin multiple players in at the same time..

Time will tell i guess if Ed's been shit-hot in all of this!

Some major signings are lump sum payments, Ronaldo to Madrid for example. But yeah, most clubs will opt for installments nowadays.

Must try that next time i'm in Tesco's:

"Listen love - here's a tenner off all that lot - i'll drop back in next week & pay a few quid off too... after i get some more stuff of course.. nice one darlin.."

I think it's clear the briefing situation has changed since LvG arrived or a short while after, wouldn't be surprised to hear nothing about our next potential signing unless it's a highly contested one like Di Maria/Sanchez

Aymen Abdennour joins AS Monaco from Toulouse on a 4 year contract. He was linked with a move to England but has decided to stay in France.
