I think we might get Vidal. We have the money and there are some reports saying that he would be interested in a move to United.

Also Juventus would do well to raise some transfer funds by selling him, so they can justify buying a few players.

Apparently they need the money soon so they can go for Sanchez before he goes somewhere else. That can only be a good thing for us I would think.

So goes the logic, but I seriously doubt we will buy Vidal fast enough for them to move ahead with Sanchez before Arsenal or another club complete the deal.

If they decide Vidal is where there funds will come from they know they will have little trouble finding a club to pay enough money to cover the Sanchez transfer fee.

That Fellaini quote is good, because alongside Hernandez, he is our most valuable expendable. We could/should get £35-40m for the two.

Who would buy the useless turd? I would say Moyes is the only one dumb enough but I doubt Fellaini would like to play in Turkey.

Hopefully we get more than 15 million for him, we should count our blessings if we can get that

Yes, with the money we're spending we'll need to recoup some of it. That's just one more argument for selling Fellaini. Him, Hernandez, Young (if possible) and Nani/Kagawa/Welbeck (don't want to sell either of them but expect one of those three to go) should give us around 50-60 million. If it was up to me, I'd probably sell Rooney too if we were to receive a good offer, making it 85-95 million.

Herrera + Shaw: 60
Vidal/Carvalho: 35-40/25-30
Di Maria/Sanchez: 35
Vermaelen: 10

That would give us a very modest net spend of 40/50 million despite having strenghtened a lot. We could then buy one or two more players.

I think this story that Vidal needs to be sold fast is absolute bollocks. Going by various sources Juventus do have some money and made a bid for Sanchez. To raise an extra £10mil why would they sell one of their star assets for less money!?!

Say this was us, would you expect the board to sell Rooney for less money but quicker, or just get rid of the Buttners / squad players / youth players to make up the difference...

It seems as though we have already had talks with Juve and Vidal's agent, so if he's keen on coming in here then I don't see why the transfer can't be done within a week or so. Sanchez could always delay his move if he really wants to go to Juve.

Will we feck. We'll be lucky to get more than £12m for either of them.
I'd say £15m for Hernandez. Don't doubt Ed 'warchest' Woodward. The lad got €7.5m or something for Buttner. Anything is possible.

Some foolish manager out there would be enticed to sign a player just because he's at Manchester United.

That would be an ideal outcome. We get Vidal, and neither Liverpool nor Arsenal get Sanchez.

It's a good job that you aren't doing the negotiations for us then. £12m will be a bit on the lower end of what I would expect to receive for either of them. £12m-£15m for Fellaini and £15m-£20m for Hernandez.

There's no way we're getting £20m for our 3rd/4th choice striker who's 2nd choice for his national team.

Their highest bid was around €16m for Sanchez IIRC, that was before the World Cup started so Barca want more now and rightly so. They need more than £10m, plus with Sanchez being so in demand right now I would imagine he would want higher wages, so getting rid of Vidal allows them to offer higher wages.
