It happens every four years man, just enjoy it. We might even see some upsets (ie United States advancing).

I'll watch the games if I can, but I will not go out of my way to watch them.

I'll watch the USA games.

@CantonaGiggs1 you're one of the most depressing persons I've met on this forum, you actually make me feel better about my own depressing life so yeah thanks.

You are welcome.

I am actually very optimistic. I don't lose my mind because United don't sign the greatest players in the world. All you have to do is look at the Fabregas and kroos threads. I actually believe we will be fine next season. If not being a muppet is being depressed, then I think you would be correct.

How is 4m divided by 52 equate to 240k???

Someone misread the 12m as being over 1 year, rather than 3 years.
As 1m a year is 20k a week, 12m over 1 year would be 12times, so 12x20k a week, around 240k a week, hence me saying we wouldn't pay a full back that!

before anyone gets the calculator out, it's actually nearer 230k a week, but it was an approximate...

As in if we don't sign anyone?

Tbh Can't blame Sagna for rejecting us. Thanks to Moyes we don't have CL football to offer nor have we got stability which we had under SAF.

Its not like we finished champions and City finished 7th and yet he is going to City for Money. Any sane footballer without emotions will chose City ahead of Us.

Great news for Everton. I can see them consistently competing for top 4 and even improving on that if they manage to sign a decent striker.

If they get a prospective buyer they could have a great future. Having Martinez locked up and a good young squad will make them very attractive for the next billionaire with an itchy finger.

He didn't fecking reject us. People need to stop believing everything they read. Every average to good player that signs a contract with another club this summer is going to do so by "rejecting united". Get used to it, by the end of the summer there's going to be 50+ players who signed for someone and in doing so "rejected United"

I'm not sure what contracts with managers really count for anymore - other than compensation. Although he seems loyal if his time at Wigan is anything to go by.

BREAKING: Manchester United will make a £25m bid for Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger. [Independent]

Article:http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...25m-for-bayern-munich-midfielder-9533592.html

Independent reliable or is this garbage?

The Times are running with it so it's probably true. But we are in the preparation stage of the bid right now. First we'll prepare, then we'll bid, then they'll reject, then we'll bid again and then he'll sign his contract extension with Bayern.

Then join Chelsea next summer for less than our highest bid.

You forgot about the lengthy "preparing" of the second bid, not to mention some serious "mulling" of both bids

Preparing the bid, how? Putting the notes in a duffel bag or something?

Looks like Eddy has been briefing some of the papers again.

Why would he do this? Just to dangle the carrot for the fans to keep us going during the WC, or because it is genuinely going to happen.

Best approach for me is shut your gob until he has signed the contract.

Sounds about right... You missed the part where he's a done deal the day before he signs the extension

If we want him we might have to pay it, but they won't get anything like that price from another team.

He will also come on pretty high wages I am sure. Would be a big investment on our part.

I will not despair just yet and think the club will do some good business. We have the right manager(hopefully) and I actually look forward to see what he can achieve with the team plus some quality additions.
