That showed interest in him? I'd imagine every top club in Europe at that price. At lot of things have to fall into place to get to the point of an official bid though and not least sounding him out through his agent. If his agent makes it clear he already has a destination in mind then they're not going to waste their time following up their interest. I'd bet my house this is the case here.

I doubt teams as big as Chelsea showed real interest. Which teams are bigger? Us, Real, Barca, Bayern, Juventus maybe.

We didn't want him apparently, Real is a no go, Bayern a no go and Juventus is a maybe if they lose Vidal/Pogba. Plus, they aren't really big spenders.
Chelsea was his only real choice IMO. He can still win trophies there.

In fairness to Arsenal, it does seen they passed on him rather than lost out. So in that sense it's not a big issue. But in terms of 'gettable' players that would improve them they won't do better than him, albeit I know they want to strengthen elsewhere.

Obviously the timing didn't match up but in a straight choice between Fabregas and Ozil I'd take Fabregas every single time. He'll be brilliant for Chelsea.

Don't want Kroos, don't want Fabregas.....interesting.

Interesting but also rather worrying. I just can't get my head around us not being in for either but have faith van Gaal knows who he wants to signs just got to wait and see. Can't see us getting a player of Fabregas quality though unless we pull off a shock and get Vidal or Schweinsteiger.

Is this what it's come to?

Edit: To RedBistro's comment.

We've signed a goalkeeper and a Swiss kid (sure I read that somewhere) already, so maybe we're signing this Thomasz Kucz too.

Just noticed the dates on that letter, maybe it's someone we had on trial and want to sign, no idea! Just thought it was a vaguely interesting tweet.

We dint sign the swiss kid. We could have, but didnt.

The only thing I can think of his that he's prioritizing power and steel for our midfield instead of creativity.

Potential youth player signing?

'If Kucz got from Polonia Warszawa to Manchester United, he'd have been the first Pole in their academy'

Seems that Kucz is a goalkeeper from Polonia Warszawa ( Legia's biggest rival, recently relegated by like 3-4 divisions due to financial problems ), currently being tested at Anfield.

Kucz is Polish NT U-15 player. This article from that tweet is from April though, ol' shit.

Thomasz Kucz sounds like they were trying to write Thomasz Kuszczak but shortened it when they realised they couldn't fit it all in.

He's available on a free, incidentally, wants to come back to the PL...

The Barca fans might see going to play for Jose as bad as playing for Real.

He didnt end up coming for the trial because he was on international duty. He was on trial with Liverpool a couple of weeks ago. Hes likely to come to United for trials soon as he cant sign until next summer anyway since hes only 14.

last year everyone blamed moyes for our farcical summer, slowly slowly it s emerging that he was not the sole culprit. I still hope woody prove me wrong though
I think the fact we didn't get Thiago or Garay is down to Moyes (though those were likely Gill/Fergie's doing). The feckups later were definitely down to both of them.

So far, it seems LvG is the reason behind not getting Moyes' targets. Got to trust him and I'm sure if he feels its Woodward screwing up, he won't be shy to say so.

Liverpool, Chelsea, and City have all signed players so far. Woodward is still sitting around with his thumb up his bum.

Edit: Correction: We signed a pharmaceuticals partner for Asia.

Who did City sign? Sagna on a free?

Has anyone considered Arsenal may not have wanted to pay his wages? I doubt they just passed on him
One thing for certain, this puts a ton of pressure on Arsene to really spend this summer. If they are anemic in the window and produce frugal spending, Arsenal fans will say why didn't we spend 30 million to bring Cesc back? Especially when you consider that 30 million pounds is a cut rate price for a player of his calibre.

The exact same thing woud be said by us

Arsenal should have bought him. If the best players are available and want to join you, you get them. He's better than Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla, Flamini, Arteta and maybe just edges Ozil.
