It would have been so fitting for a broadcaster by the name of 'La Sexta' to have broken that story too. Shame.

There's only one year left on Huntelaar's contract. Huntelaar refusing to extend with Schalke. Wants to win silverware for once.

I'd like it if he went back to Ajax, would definitely win silverware. Probably can't afford his wages/ambition though.

Yet another sensationalist headline by DM. Van Gaal never said the player wasn't upto standard, only alluded to the fact that Van Persie was substituted vs Mexico due to tactical and fitness concerns.

Afterwards, Van Gaal was asked if Van Persie was injured and said: 'No. The substitution of Van Persie was tactical.
'Let’s not forget before he joined team he was recovering from an injury. It’s difficult for him to keep up 90 minutes especially in these conditions.
'Anyway, this trainer wants to win. So he makes the changes and the substitutions he needs. It’s simple. Nothing else matters.'

Di Maria to Man Utd is doing the rounds on twitter and the source people are using is Marca

Don't believe that whatsoever. Can't see us bringing in a winger this window.

It's believable that they'd sell him for that price - whether or not we'd pay it is a different matter.

edit: oops, thought you were responding to the original tweet

Its safe to say anyone half decent and preferably expensive that comes on the market is going to be linked to us in the coming weeks.

Would we prefer Di Maria or Sanchez?

It's close and Di Maria might even slightly edge it in terms of the impact the'd have. I'd still choose Sanchez though on account of Di Maria being a massive cnut.

Why do people keep saying this? He was our best outfield player for most of last season.
Yeah agreed, but he has some shockers doesn't he, be interesting to see how van Gaal deals with our Wayne

Would we prefer Di Maria or Sanchez?
I would. More adaptable to different formations (he's been exceptional in midfield for Real), equally capable of deciding a match on his own, better workrate and understanding of the defensive side of the game, more allround and has performed better than Sanchez over the past three seasons.

Not that I don't want Sanchez but Di Maria is so criminally underrated.

Sanchez. Ideally, if we sign a new winger he will be able to contribute a lot of goals and di Maria wouldn't provide that.

It would be nice to buy from Madrid for a change but I don't think you could do wrong with either (or both ;) )
