The way I see no way Alexis Sánchez is staying at Barcelona, which is a shame. Expecting a bidding war from the PL clubs I mentioned.

He's a quality #6. For 20m Euros, he'd be an excellent signing. Hardly a muppet's wet dream, I'll grant you.
I wouldn't really call him a no.6 Madrid fans always complain when he bursts forward all the time when his suppose to be the holding player.

Radio Marca claims Barcelona will sell Pedro, Tello and re-sign Nolito from Celta. Really doubt that, quite illogical.

At least we could win a bidding war with Arsenal and Liverpool, not sure how it'll turn out if other rich clubs like Monaco, PSG, Chelsea and City stick their noses in.

In England 6 has always been a centre half. The 6 midfielder thing is the done thing in Europe I think.

He isn't a #6 at all.

Yes he is. Just because he contributes to the vertical play of the team, it doesn't mean he isn't a #6 by trade. It's more down to the tactical instructions of the coach. He's played as a midfield sweeper as much as he's been deployed pressing higher up the field. So I'm very comfortable with that designation. I'll agree that he can play as a 6 or an 8.

Beyond the Suarez issue, I get a weird feeling Liverpool are going to slide backwards next year.

I'd say it's almost certain, unless they can flog Suarez quickly and bring in a world class replacement. Which you'd have to say is unlikely.

So now that we know what a 6 is, what is an 8? Someone who dictates play higher up? Slightly further than the 6?

Who? I really struggle to think who could replace him and moreover who would want to go.
